Villa dei Conti is a splendid sixteenth-century two-story historical villa surrounded by a wonderful age-old park. It sleeps ten people. It is appoximately 600 square meters (6460 square feet). It features a shared swimming pool, a shared garden, a reserved outdoor area, winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.

You will be roughly 5 km (3.1 miles) from Padua, where you will find restaurants, the shops and public transportation.

To stay at Villa dei Conti you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises.

Villa dei Conti is a spectacular Venetian villa located on a property whose central part is open, for want of the current owners (presently living on the premises), to a restricted number of people. As a guest you will have the possibility to fully enjoy the exclusiveness of this kind of accommodation and, above all, the quiet and relaxing atmosphere, despite being only 5 km (3 miles) from the center of Padua.

The villa, surrounded by a 5-hectare secular park, is perfect for the ones who are looking for a vacation in harness with the nature, and is also an excellent starting point to visit the main tourist attractions in the region of Veneto. The secular park is shared with the guests of a small depandance located in a secluded part of the estate.

The villa is close to Padua, Venice, Verona, Este and many other famous and beautiful art cities.

The secular park

Your stay at Villa dei Conti will be particularly pleasant thanks to the peacefulness of the stunning uncontaminated nature offered by this lovely park. A noble place, preserved almost intact throughout the ages, where you will be able to relax. This is a magic tourist spot where you will be able to dedicate yourself to swim, rather than fishing into the private lake, or walking into the wood nearby the villa, or simply bike along the villa's canal embankment and reach the outstanding Park of Colli Euganei. You will never forget the intense scent of flowers during spring, or mushrooms in autumn, along with the marvellous landscape offered by the wood.

The park is surrounded by ancient walls which help protect the calmness of the villa. Taxus, box and ligustrum hedges and the path decorated by 18th-century statues lead through the vast variety of old, monumental plants in the vast woods. In this romantic place you will enjoy unique views like the headstone monument in the background of the villa, the lake with its swans, the watchtower and the neogothic chalet. Under one of the many small hills overlooking the lake there is an ice-house used in the 19th century.

Fully immersed into this natural quiet, you will be miles away from the chaotic city life, while taking advantage of the comforts and facilities of a modern accommodation.

A taste of history...

The architectural complex was built by the noble family of the Counts of St Bonifacio, from Verona, in the XVI century.

Originally there were two separate buildings. The first one composed by the the Prior's house, a small church dedicated to St Giacomo, with an imposing ogival portal and a characteristic cusp bell-tower in perfect Romanesque style. The second one was composed by a large Party Hall as embellishment and enjoyment of the pretty park in which was located.

The current XVIII-century setting has been made by the Count Anton Maria of St Bonifacio in occasion of the wedding of his son Ercole with the marquise Teresa degli Obizzi, officiated on February the 14th 1734. The Count Giovanni Francesco of St Bonifacio transformed the complex into this outstanding villa, as summer residence of his family only in 1835, making a single linear building of the previous two, as well as the current living rooms on the ground floor and the bedrooms on the first floor.

The North East Italy region

Think of a rich paradise, holding the natural beauty of Dolomites, Lake Garda (the largest lake in Italy) and Euganean Hill, along with the architectural marvels of ancient cities like Verona, Vicenza and Padua and.... welcome to Veneto!

In terms of landscapes, Veneto might be reasonably considered one of the most various and "complete" Italian areas: the large level expanses counterpoint the rocky Dolomites spurs, marking the the north-western border of the region; the Adriatic sea, with marvellous beaches and ports, to against the large romantic stretch of Lake Garda; from the fascinating small countryside towns to the marvellous big 'tourist cities'. Veneto responds every tourist needs, no matter whether you like skiing, rather than surfing or a cultural vacation, among beautiful churches, villas and historical buildings... even the cuisine is superb!

Where now lie cities like Vicenza, Padua, Verona and Treviso, onto fertile soils, rich in silt sediments, the Romans built their frontier stations. The cities had a long time of prosperity as strategically positioned at the centre of the Empire road network, even undergoing several German invasions during the V century AC. The situation improved under the Venetian domination: the medieval towns in Veneto were built along important commercial routes like la Serenissima (that links the seaports of Venice and Genoa) and the Brenner pass, which was crossed by Northern European traders coming to Italy across the Alps. The agricultural, commercial and booty riches, as well as the construction of Renaissance and public buildings, most of them designed by Andrea Palladio, contributed to make this region so incredibly beautiful. Nowadays, after decades of crisis, the region of Veneto, also thanks to the small and medium industries, has become one of the richest regions in Europe.

Padova

Worldwide known as birthplace of St Antonio, Padua is one of the biggest Italian cities of art. Marked by a millenarian history, the ancient "Patavium" has been, since the IV century BC, the most important Venetian centre and, later on, one of the most flourishing cities of the Roman Empire.
