This lovely, modern, detached cottage is arranged over two floors with two double bedrooms on the ground floor, making it ideal for those with limited mobility and a further two bedrooms upstairs. Located in the pretty village of Oxwich the cottage has stunning rural views over Oxwich Bay and Oxwich Castle. It is a five minute walk to the beach, where you will also find a shop and a hotel providing bar meals and drinks. We think that Ganderstreet cottage is a great location for your holiday. The property is bounded by fields on two sides so don’t be surprised to find the neighbour's horses looking at you over breakfast.

On the ground floor there are two large double bedrooms, a modern bathroom with a jacuzzi bath, a well equipped kitchen and a day room with a dining table and lounge area. Two sets of French doors open out on to the garden. A decked area with outside seating, due to be completed early in the new year, will be accessed through the french doors. There is also a small conservatory.

The main living room is located on the first floor to take advantage of the spectacular view. With windows on two elevations and a velux roof light the room is bright and airy and provides views that span from the nature reserve, past Oxwich Castle to the fields beyond. There are two sofas, a flat panel TV and DVD should you tire of the view! There is a further king sized bedroom on this floor, a children’s room with bunk beds and a beautifully finished shower room.

All of the bedrooms are beautifully finished and provide ample storage for clothing.

Externally there is a private gated gravel driveway with room to park 3 cars, a lawned garden to the front and rear of the property and an outbuilding containing the washing machine and tumble dryer.

Central heating is provided by a modern calor gas combination boiler.

A stair gate is fitted to the top of the staircase.

Partial sea views. You can see the beach but in the summer the sea will be hidden by trees.

Pets are welcome at a charge of £25 per pet.

The South Wales region

Swansea has the usual range of amenities of a large city, shops, cinemas, bars, museums, galleries, theatres and restaurants.Wind Street is the bar and night club centre. More uniquely it has the National Waterfront Museum just down from the newly re-furbished Leisure Centre and adventure water park for all ages. A short walk away from these is the the Dylan Thomas Centre celebrating the turbulent life and work of the beery bard.

A short drive away there are several Norman castles, the National Wetland centre, National Botanical Gardens, Dan-yr Ogof show caves, and Brecon Beacons National Park. A little further afield are Tenby Laugharne and St. Davids.

Oxwich is a small pretty village with a shop, a hotel and a church on the edge of the beach. The hotel has a restaurant which is open to the public. There is a large beer garden and a children's play area is provided. It is open all through the day and evening. There is a good view of the beach from the garden. Many weddings are held in the grounds of the hotel because of the beautiful location. The main road into Oxwich leads through the woods and out across the salt marshes and the nature reserve. At the end of this road is a large car park designated for the beach. The beach itself is at the western end of a glorious three mile expanse of golden sand. It is very accessible and you can stay near to the hotel and shops and watch the boats being launched from the slip way. There are water sports available at the Oxwich Bay Beach Club such as dinghy sailing and windsurfing. Ten minutes walk east along the sand and you are surrounded by dunes with salt marshes and woods behind. So much to explore; so much plant and animal life to see. At the far end of the beach is the Great Tor which is a spectacular vertical limestone cliff. Heading west from the car park you follow a path through woods skirting the bay. You come across St Illtyd’s church, lost in the trees with its ancient graveyard. Continue over the headland called Oxwich Point, and there is Slade. Yet another beautiful bay which is much quieter due to the absence of parking. The minimal development at Oxwich does not detract from the magnificence and tranquility of the bay. You will not be disappointed.

"Excellent! Clean and tidy! Great view!"

I went with a group of friends to South Wales to spend our Easter weekend there. This is the first time we rented this cottage. There are 4 bedrooms, sleep 8 with 2 bathrooms and 2 living rooms. We had a great time staying at the cottage. The cottage was clean, tidy and cosy. In the morning, when we had breakfast in the living room, we saw sheeps and ponies walking around the neighbourhood, stunning!

Thank you for a lovely review on our Ganderstreet Cottage!
