Home description

Welcome to our fabulous, exclusive, organic Cotswold Country Estate. The Grade II listed, 17th Century Old Manor House is exquisitely set in the centre of its own sweeping parkland, pasture and woodland and is approached through cast-iron entrance gates, down a long, private, tree-lined carriage drive past streams and a beautiful wildlife pond. The estate lies within glorious, rolling Cotswold countryside yet is not isolated being only a short drive to the vibrant, historic, University City of Oxford and a delightful Cotswold Pub and Restaurant is just a short walk away. There are magnificent countryside views, wonderful walks and total privacy making the estate one of the premier holiday, corporate and wedding venues in The Cotswolds.

The Old Manor House is very spacious and luxurious, full of charm and character and, at 5000sq ft with 12 bedrooms and 8 Bathrooms is ideal for gatherings of family, friends and colleagues and can be arranged to sleep up to 30 adults and children. There is a stunning under-floor heated conservatory and dining room seating 28, a charming, historic sitting room with a cosy log burning stove set in an inglenook fireplace and lots of quiet nooks and corners where you can escape to relax with a book or a magazine. Seven of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, one with a fabulous Jacuzzi Bath, plus there is a family bathroom. Full Sky+ High Definition, Movies and Sports, a Playstation 3 and Complimentary Wireless Broadband internet access are provided plus there are TVs and DVD players in every bedroom.

The estate is a superb setting for Weddings Receptions, Corporate Events and Birthday Celebrations and has a heated Event Barn which, with the adjacent Formal Garden, is ideal for all special events, al-fresco dining and barbeques. Private Catering can easily be arranged with recommended caterers. With the ground floor containing 5 large bedrooms, 4 with en-suite bathrooms, The Old Manor House is also a perfect holiday or weekend destination for the disabled and people with limited mobility. We welcome Stag and Hen Parties at £150 per head which represents superb value for a long weekend for 23 people in such a fabulous environment. The wonderful night-life of Oxford is very close by and transport there in mini-buses or taxis can be easily arranged.

There is a fantastic “Emerald Escape” Spa and Hot Tub beautifully set in a decked gazebo in the delightful formal garden with 60 massage jets including custom neck, cluster, pulsator and air message jets, an Aromatherapy system and full LED lighting. We have a superb Games Room with a pool/snooker table, a football machine and a darts boards. We can also offer exclusive Privilege Guest status at the nearby Witney Lakes Resort (2 miles) allowing our guests to enjoy all their facilities at discounted rates. These include the fabulous Health Club with its Indoor Heated Pool, hot-tub, gym, sauna, steam-room and fitness centre, the Golf Club, which has an 18 hole, par 71, 6500 yard course, and the Retreat Spa, offering a range of beauty, facial and body treatments. Clay Pigeon Shooting, Simulated Game Days and Corporate Activity Days are available nearby or, by arrangement, on our estate.

Children of all ages are very welcome at The Old Manor House and will delight in playing on the extensive, private lawns away from public roads and near neighbours. The estate specialises in breeding endangered species of cattle, sheep, goats and chickens, allowing viewing at close quarters of some of our most attractive and historic British breeds. You will adore the docile Gloucester cattle, the huge Cotswold sheep (traditionally known as the 'Cotswold Lion') with their gorgeous fluffy spring lambs, the Brahma chickens with their big feathery feet and the magnificent, critically-endangered Bagot Goats.

We have put a lot of thought and work into making our Exclusive Country House as sumptuous and as comfortable as possible and we do hope that you will decide to stay. All guests are supplied in advance with a copy of our detailed ‘Book of the House’ containing comprehensive information and advice to make your stay even more enjoyable. The Central England / Cotswolds / Oxfordshire region

The estate is superbly situated in the eastern Cotswolds, close to the fascinating University City of Oxford, the River Thames, Blenheim Palace and Burford. The estate makes an ideal base for touring the wonderful historic heritage of central England yet is only 60 miles west of London and within 1 hours drive of London Heathrow Airport. The M40 motorway is close by and the M4 is also within easy reach.

There are numerous restaurants and beautiful country pubs in the area and plenty of opportunities for golf, fishing and walking.
