Home description

A very comfortable terraced family house on four floors, situated in the exclusive North Oxford Conservation Area, under a mile from the city centre and less than 1/2 a mile from University Parks and Port Meadow. This house is one of the oldest in North Oxford and forms part of a small terrace of artisan cottages, now all valued at $2 million or more. It has been considerably and sympathetically extended to provide comfortable living accommodation. The ground floor room (first floor) is open-plan, with 2 sitting areas, a dining area and a kitchen area. The 2 main bedrooms (first floor in Europe, second floor in N America) are large with en-suite bathrooms.

The Central England / Cotswolds / Oxfordshire region

The Cotswolds is an impossibly picturesque area of southern England, popular with both the English themselves and visitors from all over the world. The beauty of the Cotswolds was recognised officially in 1966 when it was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) The Cotswolds is now the largest area of outstanding natural beauty in England and Wales.

There are famous cities such as Bath, well-known beautiful towns like Cheltenham and hundreds of delightful villages such as Burford and Castle Combe. Above all, the local honey-coloured limestone, used for everything from the stone floors in the houses to the tiles on the roof, has ensured that the area has a magical uniformity of architecture.

The Cotswolds are a 20 minute train journey from Oxford

Oxford / North Oxford area

Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town, With its mix of ancient and modern, there is plenty for the tourist to do. Whether its visiting one of the many historic buildings, colleges or museums, punting on the River Thames or River Cherwell or having a drink in one of the traditional pubs. The Bodleian Library, The Ashmolean Museum, The Botanic Gardens and Christ Church Cathedral are just a few of Oxford’s world famous attractions.

There is an excellent coach service between Oxford and London Heathrow (49 miles) and London Gatwick (78 miles) airports. Coaches between Oxford and London (57 miles) run every 15 minutes. Oxford train station is 1.5 miles from the house and has excellent links to London, the Cotswolds, Bath etc. I strongly recommend renting bicycles whilst staying in Oxford.
