This is the ideal location to explore historic Oxford without needing your own transport. All the sights of Oxford can be reached on foot within 30mins. The bus stop into town is about 70m just round the corner, near a shop (open till 10pm) and a good restaurant (my family's favourite).

At the end of the road is the flood plain of the Cherwell - an enormous field system where you can walk for hours. Open countryside in the middle of the town, together with farm animals to delight the children. Take a stroll along the river to the Victoria Arms pub/restaurant in Marston.

The Oxfordshire region

Oxfordshire lies in the middle of England, and is one of the most largest and most beautiful counties. It is full of places of interest.

Not far from Oxford is Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill and still home to the Churchill family. You are also near the picturesque Cotswold hills, with lovely villages and countryside. There is no shortage of interesting places to explore.

Oxford

Oxford is the second oldest University in the world, and is full of historic buildings, some over 1000 years old. You can enter most of the colleges at certain times, or take guided tours. There are outstanding museums to visit, and no end of excellent pubs and restaurants. There are theatres and plenty of concerts to go to (look in Daily Info for listings).

"a home from home"

The whitehouse was ideal for a great holiday with my 5 friends. We were very comfortable and had a great time exploring oxford. Great house for a big family get together or for enjoying time with friends. It was very well equipped and the owner took great care in providing a comfortable base for our extended weekend. I would recommend it to anyone.

"Lovely house, great location"

We really enjoyed our second stay at The White House. As a family with young children and visiting grandparents the layout is perfect. The owner is very helpful and happy to respond to requests. The location is great - an easy walk into Oxford city centre. We hope to go back next year.

"Excellent venue for family Christmas"

The White House proved to be a brilliant location for a family gathering. The house is so spacious and has everything one needs. Great for children. A lovely park over the road (slides etc.) for younger children. Very frequent buses nearby for centre and station.
