Grianach Villa is situated with the pine clad backdrop of Mt. Babadag on a quiet street about 100 yards downhill from Attaturk Road, and is about ten minutes easy walk to the main Hisoranu town centre, which is full of restaurants, shops, pharmacies, jewellers, supermarkets, excursion shops, funfair and a go-cart track, there are cash machines (with english instructions, which take most main bank cards), and local street market with loads of fake goods on a Monday.
Attaturk Road, has many local shops, pharmacies, laundries, 'corner shops', bakers, bars, restaurants, and supermarkets, which are all quieter than the busy Hisoranu centre. There is a waterpark a short distance away too.
The villa was built a few years ago, but we are the first owners, and we have not held back on equiping this beautiful house and garden. All the furniture is hand built solid wood, custom built to fit the villa, and we are still improving everything each trip we make. Grianach is Gaelic for bright and full of sunshine, and that is exactly what this villa is. It will sleep six adults, and a child, and comprises of three, bright, fully air conditioned floor levels. The entrance is straight into the all open plan middle level, with main living room, and large fully equiped kitchen and dining table. The sitting room is fitted with satellite tv, dvd player, and ipod docker speaker system. Wi-Fi is available. There is a balcony outside the patio doors from the sitting room, leading round to the front side, where there is an outdoor built-in barbeque, along with table and chairs. Upper floor has master bedroom with ensuite shower room and another balcony, bedroom two with twin beds, and a family bathroom, with washing machine. Lower level has a lounge, kitted out with satellite TV, and a Wii games station and fit board, for the kids! Bedroom three is round the corner, with twin beds, a fold down single child bed, and a seperate shower room/toilet. There is an iron and ironing board, and a safe down here. The pool and lovely garden are serviced and tended every day, and there are plenty of loungers and chairs. There is a supply of pool/beach towels available for you to use, also hairdryers and hair straighteners, meaning you do not need to use up your valuable luggage weight restrictions to carry them yourself. We have a local English run management company who will deal with everything you need to do, and are onsite to meet you and help you throughout your stay if you require it..
We are well travelled, and first came here on holiday about six years ago, we loved it more than anywhere else we have been to in the world, and very quickly decided we would like to buy a house here when we were able. We have managed to fulfill that dream, and hope you will love our house and this town and country as much as we have come to do.

The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The Turquoise coast situated between the Aegean and Mediterranean areas in the South West corner of Turkey. This region corresponds to ancient Lycia and the Lycians desgned cities that would degrade gracefully. Between Fethiye and Antalya there are a score of sites worth seeing, Lycian, Dorian, and Roman.
The Turquoise coast at its finest has become the destination of first choice for many first time and repeat visitors to Turkey.
They say Turkey is where East meets West and nowhere is this more apparent than in Fethiye, an ancient town known as Telmessos about 2400 years ago. Fethiye rests on a broad Mediterranean bay boasting some of Turkey's best beaches and yachting. The old fortress stands where the city was first founded and the existing walls are from the 11th Century. At some places, portions of walls from the Roman period can be seen. The fortress was repaired by the Rhodesian Knights during the 15th Century. The Telmessos Ancient Theatre stands opposite to the commercial quay in Fethiye town centre. This typical Roman theatre was built in the 2nd century on the remains of a previous Greek one. The Lycian cave tombs are located in the cliff face east of the city, the biggest and most impressive being the Tomb of Amyntas. This huge facade was cut out of the solid rock around the 4th century BC. However if ancient sites aren't your idea of holiday fun, then think about taking the 12 island boat tour around the bay, and stopping off at some to explore. Or catch a water taxi across the bay to Calis Beach. There is a huge market on Tuesdays in Fethiye, where you can buy, after a good haggle, fake designer goods, spices, local fruit and vegetables, along with all kinds of household wares.
Ovacik, where Grianach Villa is located, is a small town, joined to Hisoranu in south western Turkey. Originally a quiet rural farming community, the tourist pull of Oludeniz brought about the changes and expansion of Hisoranu and Ovacik. Much of the farming and rural life is still visible.
The town is about 70 minutes drive south from Dalaman Airport, which is served well by flights from the U.K. The drive is down the western Turkish hilly coastline, offering fantastic views on the way. Ovacik and Hisoranu are situated 1600 feet on the side shoulder of 6500 foot Mt. Babadag (Father Mountain), slightly cooler than the hot and humid towns next to the sea!
It is about ten minutes ride in the dolmus minibus service, which runs down the main street (Attaturk Road) of Ovacik, and for a few Turkish Lira (TL) will take you to the small city of Fethiye, with shops, banks, markets, bars, restaurants, beaches, and boat trips. The other direction will take you to the famously picturesque town of Oludeniz, its beaches, and blue lagoon, beachside bars and lovely evening restaurants (booking advised), and enough beautiful scenery that you could ever hope for.
Hisoranu town centre is pedestrianised, it has everything! shops, bars, nightclubs, restaurants with every type of cuisine you can think of. There are excursion shops, which can offer you microlight flights, white water rafting, quad biking, horse riding, scuba diving, sight seeing, and boat trips, and the not for the faint hearted, tandem paraglide trip from the top of 6500 foot Mt. Babadag, down to Oludeniz beach, do not forget your camera!
There are money exchanges, which offer a good rate, and ATM cash machines, which you can use all main bank debit and credit cards in.
