About this location
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
With so much to see and do you may have to stay longer than planned...
April to October here is the holiday season, however the summer months of July and August are clearly the busiest and the hottest. The Spring and the Autumn are lovely to relax by the pool and be able to comfortably walk to a restaurant in the evening.
Enjoy boat trips to Gocek and the 12 islands or to the butterfly valley, Saint Nicholas (Santa) island and Gemilier bay and to explore nearby attractions such as Oludeniz, the deserted old Greek village of Kaya, the gorge of Saklikent, the 16km long beach of Patara with its ruins or the ancient sites of Xanthos, Letoon and Tias, to name but a few.
THE LYCIAN WAY
This ancient trail links Fethiye with Antalya, however its full 500km-length would be beyond the scope of most holidays.
Keen walkers will enjoy descending this stunning valley fronted by a beautiful beach.
A justly popular beach resort, beautifully situated beside a lagoon that has become one of Turkey's most photographed images.
MOUNT CRAGUS BABADAG
Enjoy the unique experience of a tandem paraglide flight from a height of 1,970 metres towards the famous lagoon at Oludeniz.
A bustling local town. Stroll along the picturesque harbour, barter for bargains in the colourful market, treat yourself to a massage in a traditional Turkish hamam, or visit the ancient rock tomb of King Amyntas and the fascinating archaeological museum. You can even take a hydrofoil to pop over to the Greek island of Rhodes.
THE DESERTED GREEK VILLAGE OF KAYA
Set in a fertile valley, the atmospheric "Ghost Town" and the sleepy village below are well worth a visit. Beautiful restaurants.
KALKAN & kAS
Situated on an almost circular bay, Kalkan has grown from a humble sponge-fishing village to a sophisticated resort boasting an excellent selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Kas is a bustling harbour town built on the site of ancient Antiphellos and retains an authentically Turkish atmosphere.
The walk through this imposing gorge is a truly memorable experience, whilst the energetic can explore the Saklikent river by kayak or canoe.
XANTHOS, LETOON, TIAS, PINARA, KADYANDA
Just some of the ancient sites that can be visited from here. Together with Letoon, Xanthos - the former capital of the ancient kingdom of Lycia, has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Dating back to before 2000BC, Tlos is famed as the home of the mythological hero Bellerophon and his winged horse Pegasus. Pinara boasts extensive ruins, including innumerable rock tombs and an extremely well preserved amphitheatre. The ancient Lycian city of Kadyanda is hidden amidst dense forests at an altitude of 950 metres close to the village of Uzumlu.
DALYAN & IZTUZU
Set on the banks of the eponymous river, the bustling village of Dalyan is home to the ancient site of Caunos and the therapeutic mud baths at Lake Koycegiz, as well as providing access to the stunning Iztuzu beach, an important breeding ground for the endangered Caretta Caretta turtle.
THE SUNKEN CITY OF KEKOVA
Take a boat excursion to the uninhabited island of Kekova to view its sunken city.
A gloriously unspoilt sandy beach running for 18km (11 miles), backed by extensive sand dunes and the remains of an ancient city reputed to be the birthplace of Saint Nicholas.
GOCEK & THE TWELVE ISLANDS
Enjoy a boat trip from the harbour of Fethiye to the picturesque "twelve islands" on board a traditional wooden gulet.
Hisaronu and Ovacik lie close by in the hills behind Oludeniz, surrounded by pine forests and beautiful countryside. These resorts have grown from the popularity of Olu Deniz itself, as when the conservation area made it impossible to build more hotels and apartments by the sea, the hillside villages within easy reach of the beach started to grow.
Both resorts are now incredibly popular with British guests & this area has something for everybody from the quiet resort of Ovacik, the bustling resort of Hisaronu with its many bars & restaurants to one of the nicest beaches you will see at Oludeniz with the blue lagoon. You will find all ages holidaying in this area which is a perfect introduction for your first holiday in Turkey or one of the many guests who return year after year.
The local weekly market in Hisaronou is every Monday, Fethiye every Tuesday and Calis every Sunday, selling a wide range of leather goods, designer clothes, local fruit, veg and spices. A visit is a must, you should be prepared to barter for a full Turkish experience.
The Dolmus bus offers a fantastic service: its cheap and runs every few minutes in the high season. It runs from Olu Deniz through Hisaronu, Ovacik and takes you to the big bustling harbour town of Fethiye. Do visit the fish & meat market, the old town bazaar and the harbour. Also a place for the shoppers, designer wear shops and the Tuesday market is a must.
The Orka hotel is within walking distance of Villa Mandarin and has lots of activities for all the family. The staff are very helpful and are always at hand to help. The family pool bar has everything you will need and the outdoor circular bar is a must for pre-evening drinks serving cocktails amongst many other choices. All of this is free to use by residents of Villa Mandarin.

"Fantastic Villa, Great Value."
A group of 4 Adults and 4 Children stayed for a week at the end of October 2012. Every one of us walked into the Villa and said wow. It was just purfect.Very clean and the staff at the local hotel were helpful and a good place to visit. Local bars and restaurants were great value and plenty of choice. Solar powered hot water was a problem as it was out of season but we knew that.
We would all recommend this villa and Julie (the owner) phoned us before the trip with advice and after the holiday to see that we were happy with the Villa.

Thank-you for your comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed staying in our villa. The lack of hot water is just through the winter months but due to an increase in demand for renting in the winter, we are currently looking into installing another solar panel. This will generate more hot water so will make an enjoyable winter holiday. Thanks again and look forward to speaking to you again soon.

This villa really has it all. Location is spot on for whatever you feel like doing when you eventualy tear yourself away from the Villa. As for the Villa, it is bright, spacious, modern and fully equipped. The Pool was the icing on the cake.
Top 3 things we did was, in at number 3... the Beach at Oludeniz, amazing vews in the day and stay around cos the restaurants come alive at night, great places to eat, Help! was our fave! At Number two we have... the Turkish Bath and Massage at The Orka Hotel, all 6 of us had a great 3 hour stint being pampered and pushed and pulled, the full body massage is a must and all this for 20 quid. And at Number One... The Sundial Otel, wow, do what the owners of the villa say and you will have such a special evening (phone them to book at sunset and get them to pick you up from villa) looking over what seems the whole world.
WE WILL BE BACK, no reason not too!! next time I think we will forget the flight home and stay!!
Thanks for your comments on our villa, we are so glad you had a nice time and like you, we think the Sundial is fab. There are so many nice restaurants that you are really spoilt for choice. The Turkish Baths is the one thing that we keep putting off until next time but I think they are a must for us next time we go.
Thanks again and hopefully we will hear from you soon to book for next year.

"Fantastic villa, booked again for next year!"
We have been visitors to ovacik for over 10 years. Love this villa and amazing pool! Great location - only 15 minutes walk to Hisaronu or anywhere by taxi by pressing the call button directly outside the villa, a real bonus! You can get lost in the views, either watching the para gliders jumping from the mountain or in the other direction the amazing sunsets. Brilliant maid service, pool cleaned every day and gardeners keep everything looking lush.We loved it so much that we booked straight away for next year.
Thank-you for writing such a nice review about our villa. We are glad you had a nice time. It is very helpfull to other clients to read peoples views.

"Our Marvellous stay at Villa Mandarin"
My husband and i visited Villa Mandarin in May, where we had a fabulous time. The owners were exceptionally helpful with hints and tips of where to visit and go for evening meals. Isabella's in the Ghost town is lovely for a special treat. All amenities were very local, although we did hire a car for the week so we could explore more of Turkey as we had never been. The villa had everything you could possibly need during your stay. We would rate this villa highly and recommend it to our friends, will definately be visiting again.
Thank you for writing a review about our villa, we are pleased you had a good time. Kayakoy is one of our favourite places with lots of nice restaurants and interesting walks. Hopefully we will be able to accomodate you again in the future.

We had a great week staying in the villa. The villa is very well appointed and it's location is great. Would highly recommend the sun dial restaurant where you can watch the sun go down near to Fetihya overlooking the bay and mountains, a truly amazing experience.
Went to kayakoy to see the old ghost town, well worth the visit as the views were spectacular.
Will defintaley be booking the villa for next year.
