About this location
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The Turquoise coast is located on the south west coast of Turkey. It has a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers with temperatures ranging from 20C to 42C from May to October.
The main town Fethiye is set below pine-clad mountains and overlooks the stunning natural port & harbour which boasts an important marina at the head of a beautiful bay strewn with islands. Above the town, numerous Lycian rock tombs, reproducing the facades of ancient buildings, cut into the cliff face by the Lycians.
While in Fethiye why not visit the impressive courtyard Fish Market in the old quarter, surrounded by hard to resist restaurants who will cook your fish and seafood providing you a salad and garlic bread for a small fee (circa 5 Turkish Lira)!
A huge and popular market is held every Tuesday and daily gulet sailing trips cruise the picturesque 12 Islands.
A favourite boat trip is to take the inexpensive Water Dolmus (half hour trip) to Çalis Beach - perhaps dining at one of the many promenade waterfront restaurants, to watch the sun majestically set over the 12 Islands.
Visit nearby Kayaköy village - a fascinating abandoned Greek settlement. The ghost town, now preserved as a museum village, consists of hundreds of rundown but still mostly intact Greek-style houses and churches which cover a small mountainside. Sample some local wines at the popular wine restuarant
Perhaps the most popular day trip is a combined trip to the ruins of Tlos one of the most important cities of the Lycian Federation, where ruins include rock tombs, a stadium, baths, & gymnasium. This can be followed by a restful pancake break at the shaded and tranquil Yakapark trout farm and later after exploring the 18 km long Saklikent Gorge lunch can be enjoyed at one of its many riverside restaurants.
Another must day trip is to Dalyan a special & unique town which is overlooked by ancient Lycian Rock Tombs which are the last resting places of the Kings of Kaunos. Here you can take the Public Dolmus Boats journeying by river along the Dalyan Canal past the rock tombs to the beautiful sandy 7Km long Turtle Beach which is protected, for it is here that the endangered Loggerhead Turtles lay their eggs.
Ovacik / Hisaronu / Ölüdeniz areas
Ovacik and Hisaronu lie close by in the hills on the main road between Fethiye and Ölüdeniz, surrounded by pine forests and beautiful countryside it is the perfect central base for reaching Ölüdeniz, Fethiye & Hisaronu
Hisaronu is the busier of the two villages; offering a wealth of competing restaurants, bars, and shops including fun activities for all the family, it is also where cash machines, post office, doctors, chemists and the much larger Migros and Azda supermarkets are centred on one main street. At the top of the village a weekly market is held every Monday throughout the tourist season, it is where it can be great fun choosing unusual gifts for those back home.
Ovacik is altogether quieter and more rural with splendid views of the surrounding pine clad mountains. The air here is usually cooler and fresher than at sea level, which can be very welcome at the height of the summer. Ovacik offers a handful of restaurants, smaller supermarkets, car hire and taxi rank within easy walking distance from Fuchsia Villa. There is a large new Azda supermarket opened in 2011 in Ovacik a short walk from Fuchsia Villa towards Hisaronu.
Ölüdeniz is the beautiful beach resort: a wide bay of coarse white sand curving around to meet a sheltered natural lagoon, with pine trees cascading down the surrounding mountains to meet the crystal-clear blue waters. The lagoon areas are part of a conservation area and although there is a small charge to access it. With its calm waters it is ideal for children, and boats leave from the main beach every morning for day trips to explore the surrounding coast, it is well worth the visit.

"Fabulous villa in an ideal location."
Fuchsia Villa is perfect for a peaceful relaxing holiday, it is ideally located in Ovacik close to the many bars, restaurants and shops and only 10 minute walk to the busier area of Hisaronu and a short Dolmus ride to the beatiful beach at Olu Deniz. The villa itself is wonderful, clean modern and offering everything you would possibly need for a perfect home away from home, the photographs really do not do the villa justice.
The pool was just the right depth for pool games and the area around the pool is extremely spacious and well maintained.
Michael the owner was very helpful from the moment we booked the villa, he send information on the area offering ideas on places to visit and any services we may have required. I would recommend Fuchsia Villa to anyone wanting to stay in a fabulous villa in a wonderful location.

This is a fantastic villa, very modern and the owner, Michael is very helpful and informative. Where the villa is in Ovacik is very quiet with lovely restaurants and local shops within walking distance. All the local people are so friendly. Loads of activities to do at very reasonable prices. Suits families as I took my 2 children and would also suit couples. I would definitely recommend and would go back.

"It's the best villa in the whole of Turkey!!"
The villa is immaculate. It is modern, clean and has all mod-cons. The pool is beautiful and just the right depth to stand up and play ball games as well as having a proper swim. The view of the mountains are spectacular! You can sometimes even count the number of parachutes jumping off! The guaranteed sunshine means you can eat all meals outside, but if you want to eat out, it's just a short walk to restaurants. We walked to the local aqua park which was great for all ages and good value for money. We jumped on the "dolmus" to Ölüdeniz beach, the water was unbelievably warm. We also took the "dolmus" to Fethiye market and bought delicious fruit and ate tasty pancakes. We had the best holiday ever and are DEFINITELY coming back this year!

"A Brilliant Holiday Villa in a fantastic location"
This villa is very well presented . The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge and beds were very comfortable. We were on holiday with friends and as both bedrooms had their own bathroom/en suite this worked very well for us. The location is good because it is only 2 minutes from the shops and an easy walk (down hill) into Hisaronu.
I must say the Michael was very helpful and supplied me with all the local telephone numbers of any services I might need.
We liked this villa so much we are looking to book it again next year.

"Excellent villa in a great location"
Having stayed in several different villas at the same location, we can honestly say this one was by far the best. The villa is a two bedroom (both ensuite), detached building, with downstairs cloakroom, living area, kitchen, private pool and terraced area.
We felt the villas decor and furnishing were superior to similar properties with every thing feeling new and fresh, and the sofas in the living area and mattresses in the bedrooms being particularly comfortable. Each room is air conditioned that all works properly and the living area and master bedroom has ceiling fans as well. A big bonus is that the villas interior stays cool all day and we didn't need the air conditioning till early evening. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed provided.
The villa is in a great location and for anyone familiar with the area, its in a side street next to the Orca Hotel. Despite being close to the Orca, it was very quiet and peaceful.
It only takes 1 minute to walk to the main road up a slight hill and has the benefit of having a shop on each corner, one of which stays open 24/7. You can walk into Hisironu quite easily from here or get a taxi from the taxi rank right next to the Orca hotel. If you don't want to go into town, there are a good choice of restaurants within 2 -3 minutes walking that serve breakfasts, lunches and evening meals.
Another bonus is that the villa has a voltage regulator that prevents the lights going dim due to voltage fluctuations (very common in this area).
We couldn't think of any downside to staying here and would recommend Fucshia Villa to anyone thinking of staying in this area.
