About this location
The Turkish Aegean Coast region
THE TURQUOISE COAST/LYCIAN REGION
The Turquoise coast is on the south west coast of Turkey, a green & mountainous region of outstanding natural beauty. Ovacik is a quiet village set in the Babadag mountains, above the historic and bustling port town of Fethiye.
Fethiye is just a 10 minute dolmus ride away where can visit the lovely harbour with its many restaurants, bustling shopping area or the famous Tuesday market. Enjoy a quiet meal on the harbour - a sophisticated way to spend an evening.
Hisaronu is only a short walk from the apartment and has a wealth of restaurants, bars & shops to enjoy. Also close by is the breathtaking resort of Olu Deniz which has stunning beaches and beautiful mountain backdrops and pine clad forests. Kaya Koy is a 10 minute journey away - better known as the 'Ghost Village'.
The region caters for all tastes and eating outing out is a great experience with varied menu's accompanied by great service.
Ovacik is on the outskirts of Hisaronu where you will find a number of shops and bars/restaurants. Ovacik is much quieter option for an evening of relaxation where friendly service is always found.
The Aqua park is just 5 minutes walk away from the apartment if a bit of fun and adventure is to your taste.
Hisaronu has a number of supermarkets (Migros and Azda being the most popular), a post office, currency exchange outlets (exchange rates are generally much better than back in the UK) and cash machines. There are also plenty of restaurants which cater for all tastes including Italian, Traditional Turkish, British etc. Bars are also plentiful as well as a number of nightclubs and all are open until the small hours. Shoppers won't be disappointed either as Hisaronu has a large selection of shops selling clothes, jewellery and souvenirs etc – the local weekly market is also held on a Monday. For a greater choice of shops head off to Fethiye on the dolmus.
A large selection of trips and activities can be booked at several local travel agents, the trips include – horseriding, scuba diving, quad bikes, jeep safari, Turkish baths, paragliding or boat trips around the fabulous Turkish coastline.
Prices for trips are very reasonable in the area.
