Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
The Coach House at Woodhayes derives its name from the fact that it used to be exactly that. In fact as you look at the entrance to it the outline of the driving arch that the carriage used to pass through can still be seen. Converted around 1970 it was formally the principle part of a series of buildings built to house the family carriage, horses and groomsmen that were part of the Woodhayes household during much of the 19th Century. Today it is a delightful 3 bedroom cottage with spacious living accommodation, comprising a kitchen/family room and a separate living room which has patio doors out onto a gravelled courtyard, with seating and a barbeque.
Upstairs there is a master bedroom with kingsize bed, a further double bedroom, and a twin room with 2 single beds. The cottage has recently been totally refurbished with a new bathroom with bath and power shower and has been decorated throughout in warm neutral tones. All of the bedrooms boast superior quality beds with plush goose feather bedding (anti-allergy bedding also available on request) and Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels.
The family room is light and spacious and provides a comfortable relaxing space in which friends and family can congregate to cook, dine or simply sit and read. It also has it's own TV so that if someone wants to watch a different channel to that on in the living room they can. The living room itself is comfortably appointed with leather sofas and chairs and has a large widescreen TV, a DVD and iPod player. WiFi access is also available in the Coach House.
The kitchen is spacious and comes with all the equipment necessary for those who like to catering for themselves. There is an electric hob, oven and grill and a separate microwave plus washer/wrier and dishwasher. Other equipment includes a large fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster and the drawers and cupboards are well stocked with utensils, crockery and glasses to ensure every need is provided for.
Outside there is a quiet, private courtyard for the exclusive use of Coach House residents and it a great space for barbecuing, or simply relaxing with a glass of wine and a good book.
