Its network of traffic free narrow streets, squares and alleyways and access into the surrounding hills provide a walking delight and an interesting exploration into the timeless qualities of daily life of traditional rural Spain. The house is cool, light and spacious with several areas to, dine, read or simply relax. Cool down in our plunge pool, sunbathe on one of our many terraces or simply relax under the canopy of the grape vine. Ward off the winter evening chill in front of the fire place after a days skiing or hike. We offer three double rooms and one single. The rooms are light, airy and spacious with balcony views towards the hills. Two double rooms come with en-suite bathrooms with a separate private bathroom for the remaining double room. Each room has a ceiling fan, and air conditioning is available if required.

Itrabo is situated in the heart of Costa Tropical, Andalucia. The area gets its name from the sub-tropical climate it receives with warm winters and long hot summers, which allows it to grow exotic crops such as sugar cane, bananas and mangoes. Itrabo is ideally located for access to the fantastic walking and cycling opportunities of the immediate sierras and the waterfalls and natural pools of the rio verde. It is close for exploring the nearby local villages and just 15 mins from the Mediterranean coast and the lively picturesque beach resort towns of Salobrena and Almunecar. There are three airports that are all within easy travelling distance to Itrabo. Malaga Airport 70 mins , Granada Airport 50 mins ,Almeria Airport 90 mins

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for being such great guests. For the benefit of future potential guests I would like to add, with regards to the stairs there are three sets of staircases and a fourth to the roof terrace. The layout of the house is such that it offers bedrooms on the upper floors, but also en suite bedrooms on the lower ground floor with direct access to the main lounge leading to the kitchen, and pool terrace, so perfect for those who may find more than one flight of stairs challenging. There are outside terraces on all but the very top floor (which has the roof terrace above), so you would not need to go too far from your bedroom to relax outside. The middle terrace has a BBQ with a sink/kitchen area and a fridge is located underneath the stairs close to this terrace. The main kitchen is on the lower ground floor.

With regards to parking outside, the house directly fronts the narrow street so you can load and unload outside with a small car. The locals are very used to this and will wait for you to finish. It is part of the experience of living in an old traditional village with a medieval street structure designed for mule and cart. You can then either reverse to a turning area a few yards away or continue to the turning point further down the street if you have a hatchback car. The nearest parking can be found a few yards from the property, or in the square - a 2 min walk.

Parking is available within the village square which is a two minute, fairly flat route from the house. There is also parking just a few meters from the house for one or two cars. Guests can load/unload directly outside the house. We now provide our guests with a map with the parking shown and the location of the house, this is also shown in our information pack.

The house is still run as a B&B but on occasion the house is let out on a rental basis. The pool is maintained very well by our house manager. But on this occasion we had a problem with the pump at the last minute, and the water was a little murky due to the new batch of sand used in the filter. It just needed a couple of days to filter through. The water was fresh and perfectly safe.
