Further details indoors

The house is perfect for two (or more) families to share due to the exceptionally spacious interior and the layout - the living and sleeping areas are at opposite ends of the large single storey house, so there is no problem with getting the kids off to bed and then disturbing them!

The two original trulli have been converted into unusual bedrooms with amazing slide-out beds and cool floors incorporating the original rock. FUNKY FLOORS AND AMAZING SLIDE-OUT BEDS (no more struggling round the sides as is usually the case!) in both trulli. These rooms are both queen size doubles and as well as being accessed from the inside of the house, have doors opening onto the front patio surrounded by flowers and trees with views over the surrounding countryside.

The other two bedrooms can be used as twins or doubles. One of these has a large en suite shower room.

There are three bath/shower rooms in total. One has a large corner bath, separate shower, bidet, sink & wc. The others have showers, bidet, sink and wcs.

The architect has ensured that the whole house is light and airy with high ceilings & cool stone walls and floors.

The spacious (30 foot) lounge has two separate seating areas and a 42" flat screen TV with sound system which can obviously also be used for music - the acoustics are great.

The exceptionally spacious kitchen is fitted with all the necessary equipment to enable you to try out all the wonderful Pugliese dishes (cookery books provided!). However should you wish to leave the cooking to the men then why not encourage them to use the well-equipped OUTDOOR KITCHEN, with its barbecue, fridge, sink and large table and chairs (you can relax on the cushioned banquettes whilst you watch them work, or just sit and gaze at the pool and grounds if watching them is too stressful!).

Further details outdoors

As you approach the gates from the small country lane (Casa Vita is extremely easy to find from the main road - a great plus!!!) you will have your first glimpse of the unique house at the end of the sweeping carriage drive. As you drive up towards the house remember that whilst this is a luxurious house with all mod cons, it is in the beautiful Pugliese countryside, and we want you to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

The large swimming pool which is at the back of the house between the outdoor kitchen and table tennis gazebo is 13 x 7 metres, free form with shallow (0.9metre) and deep (1.9metre) ends connected by wide steps creating an unusual design with plenty of room for a decent swim but also great for lazing around in the shallow end. Whist this creates a wonderful area for the kids to play around, the pool is not gated and we would stress that children should be supervised at all times.

There are various seating areas, all with plenty of sun or shade (provided by covered verandahs, gazebo, under the sails in the outdoor kitchen, and hammocks under the olive trees).

Large raised gazebo with table tennis table and equipment set amongst the olive trees and overlooking the pool.

Outdoor kitchen/living area overlooking the pool (see above for further details).

More Seating on the patio at the front of the house should anyone want to spend time away from the main pool and recreation area at the back.

Enormous roof terrace with wonderful views over the trees to Ostuni and Ceglie. We have placed large flower pots at the base to prevent children climbing the stairs without supervision and we would advise caution generally to anyone using it. However we have spent many relaxing hours up on the terrace which also has plenty of lighting for when darkness falls.

Moving away from the patio, swimming and recreation areas, we have tried to leave the land with its dozens of olive, fig, almond and pomegranate trees as natural as possible whilst planting many flowers, shrubs, palms, peach, cherry and orange trees

Further details

No stress - we'll meet you at an easy to locate destination, whatever time you arrive, guide you to the house and go through everything, leave you a welcome pack so you don't have to rush to the shops, You'll be provided with contact numbers should you need anything.

House is on one level, the only internal steps are to the 4th bedroom. There is a step from each of the external doors to gardens.

There's a safe for your valuables and a (VERY) easy to operate alarm.

All linen and towels are provided, the property is cleaned once a week on Saturdays. Extra cleaning/laundry changes can be arranged at extra cost. Pool towels provided.

There is a cot and high chair (should you need more please let us know).

The Puglia region

Puglia is the wonderful "heel" of boot-shaped Italy with its beautiful Mediterranean climate.

Drive to the Adriatic or Ionian coasts - long sandy beaches backed by dunes, rocky coves, ports and harbours, resorts with bars & restaurants - the choice is endless. 10 mins drive. The Ionian coast is about an hours drive with more beautiful beaches. Or drive around the beautiful countryside of the Itria valley past the many trulli to Alberobello or one of the lovely hillside towns.

Excellent golf courses at Savelletri near Fasano approx 20 minutes drive. San Domenico golf course approx 40 mins drive.

The stunning whitewashed town of Ostuni is totally captivating, whether you just want to sample the wonderful food in some of the many restaurants, have a cocktail in an amazingly funky bar or spend hours walking around the streets of the old town with its glorious views over the plain to the blue Adriatic sea.

Nearest supermarket approx 5 mins drive. The many shops, restaurants, banks, etc. in Ostuni are about 10 minutes drive, with Ceglie offering further options being the same distance. The Saturday market is a must - the freshest foods are in abundant supply and it has been said by the most ardent shopper that the clothes and shoes are better than those in many shops.

"Puglian Paradise"

Our group of 7 close friends and family, varying in age from 25 to 78, spent 6 nights at Casa Vita as our home base for our first visit to Puglia. The location just outside of the beautiful Citta Bianca of Ostuni is perfect for day trips to the best spots in the region -- Lecce, Polignano a Mare, Locorotondo, and the wineries of Manduria. The food and wine in this region are amazing. The villa is incredibly spacious and perfectly accommodated our large group. The weather in late September/early October was too chilly to enjoy the beautiful pool but the grounds and gardens are spectacular. We watched the sunset from the villa roof top almost every night. We highly recommend Casa Vita as a perfect spot for a wonderful vacation with wonderful friends and family.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Its a shame about the weather as Chris is at Casa Vita now and its warmed up again so he's using the pool, not sure for how much longer though!

"A lovely villa - even out of season"

We spent a week at Casa Vita in late October/early November 2013. The villa is lovely and very well-appointed both inside and out. The living room and kitchen areas are very spacious, and the four bedrooms comfortably sleep two people each - the trulli bedrooms are lots of fun. We arrived late in the evening, but were met with a welcome pack containing plenty of food (and wine!) to keep us going until the supermarket opened in the morning. The swimming pool is beautiful, with crystal-clear water that was still just about warm enough for swimming even so far into Autumn - the kids swam every day, and the pool was ideal for them thanks to the extended shallow end. They also loved exploring the grounds, picking (and shelling and eating!) almonds, playing table tennis etc etc. Ostuni and the other local towns are all well worth visiting - we ate very well in the local restaurants. There are plenty of beaches nearby too, and the Adriatic was great for swimming (we had lovely warm weather all week). The only shame is that we couldn't stay longer!

We're thrilled that you enjoyed your autumn holiday.

"We loved Casa Vita and would highly recommend it."

This is our 6th trip to Puglia but our first and hopefully not last time in Casa Vita. We stayed 21st Sept 2013 for 7 nights - could have stayed at least another week! The property is very spacious. There were 6 adults, a 3 year old and 6 month baby. We were blessed with the weather, able to spend most of our time outside. The kitchen has everything we needed including an American style fridge with filtered water and ice dispenser, so no making ice! We used the hi-fi system with our i-phones so we could enjoy music outside through the speakers. Outside of the villa we used the BBQ and the pizza oven. We had a pizza completion one night, was very competitive, great fun! The villa is half way between Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica. So less than 10 mins drive to shop or eat out. A lovely sandy beach 20 min drive away. Jane the house manager was very helpful. We loved Casa Vita and would highly recommend it.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay and thrilled that you would have liked to stay for another week

"What an amazing villa"

We stayed in Case Vita with our two children as well as another family with their children. The villa totally exceeded our expectations. The property is very impressive on arrival as you drive up through imaculately tended grounds. The front of the villa is in the traditional trulli style. The back of the villa, by the pool, has been sympathetically extended to provide ample space for our party of eight. Inside everything was spotless and extremely well equipped. The kitchen is massive and has everything that you could possibly need, including a great hi-fi which we could plug our iPods into. Two of the bedrooms are traditonal trullis which are amazing. The other bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and decorated to a very high standard. The best part of the villa is outside. The pool area is extremely well designed with ample shade. The pool was perfect for our family party with a very shallow half as well as a good deep end. We ate every meal in the outside kitchen. The pizza oven was a real challenge which we enjoyed. The villa is within a short drive of some really intesting old towns and beaches. We were well looked after by Jane during our stay. We really have nothing bad to say about Casa Vita and would highly recommend it.

Many thanks for the review. Yours is a particularly important one having seen your own website with the wonderful properties you rent in Scotland.

"Idyllic villa, both traditional and contemporary in design."

The hosts were warm and co-operative from start to end of our trip. They really ensured we had the most comfortable and seam-free stay possible. The house was dreamy and exceeded all our expectations. I loved the trulo features of the house in particular, and the attention paid to the outside lounging area and surrounding garden. There was endless stuff to keep you entertained at the house, and our sole trip to Ostuni was almost not needed - but worth a look whilst you have a car there. The town holds much much history and beauty and locals are friendly and helpful. Would certainly visit again and recommend to friends.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday. The house is indeed dreamy. Can't wait to get back there ourselves

"Puglian Paradise"

Would highly recommend this to anyone hoping to visit Puglia. Great location 10 minutes drive from Ostuni, a large and atmospheric interior to the space, with very cool bedrooms (literally) and all the amenities that you could hope for. Pool and barbecue space were great, clean, relaxing. A brilliant holiday!

So pleased you had a brilliant holiday. Thank you for the review

"A beautiful villa that is presented to a very high standard"

We stayed in Casa Vita at the beginning of May and were hugely impressed with the house, grounds, pool, pizza oven, bbq and table tennis. It is a magical place and has been finished to a very high standard. The weather was great when we visited for lazing by the pool but we also toured the surrounding district and really enjoyed Ostuni and particularly the main square in Ceglie in the early evening. Jane met us on the first evening and was a huge help with any questions we had during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Vita.

I'm so pleased you all had such a good time. Best wishes. Ros

"The best rental property in which we have stayed"

Casa Vita is a beautiful well appointed holiday home. We wanted to stay in a trulli but struggled to find ome with large rooms, however luckily the house is even larger than depicted in the photos. It is well placed for sightseeing in Puglia, which is a delightful unspoilt region. We look forward to returning in the summer when we intend to simply relax by the pool and make the most of the house.

We look forward to your return in the summer - the swimming pool will be awaiting you!!

3 Dec 2012

I stayed at Casa Vita for 2 weeks over the Easter period with my partner and my brother, his fiancee and his son. We were so pleasantly suprised by the space in Casa Vita, both inside and out. The accommodation was perfect for us, there was everything we could have needed and more - it is beautifully decorated and so unique to anywhere we have stayed before. It's superbly clean and has all the mod-cons one would need. The pool was especially popular with my 10 year old nephew, and we adults loved the hanging bed, and we all loved the outdoor BBQ area and pizza oven and were lucky enough to eat outside every night we stayed at Casa Vita even though it was quite early in the season. The pool looked especially stunning all lit up at night. Fantastic secluded and peaceful location for the daytime, but close enough to the supermarkets and town to be able to get everything you need with ease. Ostuni is a stunningly quaint little town with some really lovely restaurants and bars. The owners, Chris & Ros, have a need to know pack in the trullo to give you all the advice you need and sightseeing recommendations but we can especially recommend the weekend markets. We thought the communication from the owners was excellent. You will need to hire a car to stay here to access the nearby supermarkets and beaches but that just means you can explore the area as much as you like! Although the website is fantastic and the pictures great, Casa Vita is even lovelier in the flesh. We will definitely return!

Thank you for the lovely review. However I've learned that honesty is the best policy and you were lucky (or brave!!) to use the pool in April. Having said that, we came ourselves in November and swam in the pool, which is also unusual, so hopefully the weather will be as good as this in future years as obviously the pool is always a great bonus! Ros

"Perfect stay in Puglia"

Lovely Villa (or restored Trulli to be more accurate) Stayed with elderly parents, my sister with her family (2 little girls), my family (6 onth old). Accommodation perfect for that many people. Lovely spot - near Ostuni but also the lovely smaller town of Ceglia where there were great places to eat. The pool was great and the place felt like a home because it had been the English owners' home and was full of interesting things, media and the like. Thoroughly recommended and the owners were excellent people to deal with.
