The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia the heel of italy, famous for its untouched and natural wildlife with villages full of baroque and romanic churches and palazzi. Unspoilt by mass tourism.

within a short drive from o s t u n i there are many places of interest to suit all, keeping adults and chldren amused:

?"Alberobello" famous for its trulli (cone-shaped-houses) protected by Unesco as a unique world heritage site are and the medieval mysterious "Castel del Monte" in the bari area.

?"Grotte di Castellana" stunning italy's largest underground cave network.

?Fantastic "Zoo Safari" - fasano with a small theme park: roller coaster, log flume, vertical ride drop, etc.

?5 major golf courses in apulia at fasano "san domenico": 1015 minutes drive away from ostuni, a challenging 18 holes per 72 course golf club with great views of the adriatic. "barialto" 30-40 minutes renovated for its architecturally designed course winding through palm trees and 5 lakes. Etc...

?"Lecce" has wonderful baroque architecture and fine boutiques. Plus the famous "piccolo" theatre.

?"Cisternino E Martina Franca" has numerous jazz festivals and plus the local fayres.

?"Polignano a Mare" a cliff top town with an elegant well-known restaurant inside an original cave on the sea.

?Water park "Acqua-in" definitely worth a visit: water slide, 2 flumes, swimming pool, bar, cafe - lamaforca beach.

Ostuni

Lonely Planet Italy: "Stunning town of stark, whitewashed buildings", "the seemingly disordered tangle of narrow cobblestone streets, many little arched stairways between the houses, recalls a North African Arab medina".

Rough Guide: "One of he most stunning small towns of southern Italy a gleeming white splash of sun-bleached streets and cobled alleyways".

Lonely Planet Puglia e..: "Ostuni has a commanding position, its maze of tightly packed streets twisting around a dramatic 15th century cathedral encircled by medieval ramparts It is the most popular Murgia town, maninly due to its proximity to the coast. In recent years it has become devilishly chic, and has the BEST after dark scene in the region".

So, why Ostuni? unique in its gender: the white city, set between olive-oil-trees facing the adriatic sea, has great sandy beaches and fine authentic italian cuisine.

Ostuni has got "the blue flag", also the lively pilone 1 and 2, both with bars and facilities nearby.

villanova port, monticelli with its posh 'quarto del mare' bar/beach resort.

costa merlata, an other favourite.

Torre pozzella, gorgeous unspoilt torre guaceto a wwf protected natural reserve; with various activites: birdwatching, walking, cycling, bathing, etc... (all beaches - 3 miles).

If u like the idea of getting purposefully lost wondering around the cobbled sundrenched streets of a medieval walled town, stumbling across amazing restaurant (with ridiculously low prices) and trendy bars, whilst catching glimpses sea of turquoise sea through the gaps between the beautiful old whitewashed townhouses, then Ostuni is 4u!!!

"Just Fabulous. A little Jem"

What a fantastic little place. the pictures dont do justic for how nice this place is.
The apartment its self was very comfortable and extremely clean. It has every thing you need. myself and husband stayed here and can not recommenend it enough. There was plenty of room for the two of us. ( its big enough for family of 3 or 4 but only 1 large bedroom, the other room is a lounge with the sofa bed. ) The only very small crictism is that the outside furnature needs replacing. But apart from that its just amazing. The roof terrace is out of this world.
We were welcome by a gentlman called francesco, who was very polite and helpful, he also meet us just as we left to collect the keys. Graziella, the lady who owns the place was very helpful when booking and made everything really easy and straight forward.
please do not hesitate to book this place. Its a little jem.

My dear, Thanks a lot for your beautiful review. The last week of July, I replaced all the outdoor furniture. I'm looking forward to see you again of course with a 10% discount. Many thanks! I wish you a beautiful end of 2013. x Graziella

"Great location"

This apartment is in a great spot in the heart of the old town in Ostuni. Fantastic views of the sea from the roof terrace, and opposite an excellent restaurant, what more could we ask for?

"So good we stayed twice"

This was our second year at Il Belvedere. The apartment is in a prime area of Ostuni, directly opposite the best restaurant in town, with a terrace view of 360 degrees and without being overlooked. The sea to the front and the town behind. Very well appointed internally. Fantastic for people watching taking their 'passegiata' and then for joining in with them later. All the bars and restauramts you will ever need are within a 5 minute stroll. Wonderful beaches 20 mins drive away.

"Most helpful host in the most charming little town in Italy"

Graziella has been very patient answering all my questions regarding the accomodation and transport. The studio is nice and new and I think the size is OK for a couple or a family with one child. Since cars are not allowed in the city you have to park a few hundred meters away, but it's well worth it. This little town is breathtakingly beautiful. We are looking forward to going back there.

Katalin, you're really welcome. I'm glad you had a great holiday!! I love my guests and it's part of my Southern Italian culture to be helpful as much as possible. :)
You meant to rate the studio VICOLO 63828. Anyway, it's under the same management. No problem ;) Thanks again
