About the home

The apartment is in an ideal central location, decorated in keeping with the historical ambience of the property. It has a lounge with original louvre doors leading on to a balcony, separate fully equipped kitchen, 2 double bedrooms and a modern bathroom. In the park there are a large selection of exotic vegetation, a cafe and a children's play area.
The apartment is in the old town of Ostuni, steps way from the many bars and restaurants surrounding the piazza. There is a huge market held in the new part of Ostuni town (bargains galore !) every Saturday morning.

The kitchen contains all modern appliances ( including coffee maker) and there are spare adaptors, DVDs and books in the lounge area. A hairdryer and CD player are provided for your convenience.

There is a lovely balcony off the main living room area and access to private areas on the huge roof terrace.

There is a friendly english-speaking representative on hand to meet and greet and provide any further information that guests may require.
Jane our House Manager will meet and greet you upon arrival. Jane is a long time resident in Italy and pretty much knows alll you need to know about Ostuni and the surrounding areas. Jane is fluent in both English and Italian.
In July and August our minimum booking period is 1 week ....

The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia (or Apulia as it is often known to the English) is the Heel of Italy. An area famous for its peaceful, untouched and natural wildlife with villages full of Baroque and Romanic churches and palazzi. Ostuni is often referred to as the Jewel of Puglia and famous nearby neighbours include the medieval Castel del Monte and Alberobello (the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Puglia), Lecce, Locorotondo, Cisternino and Gallipoli. The Grotte di Castellana (Italy’s largest underground cave network – stunning !) and the fantastic Fasano Safari Zoo are only a short drive away too.

Our nearest favourite white sand beach is Pilone II. From Ostuni town drive straight down to the coast and turn on to the highway in the direction of Bari. Look out for the signs for Pilone when you see signs for Rosa Marina.
In the other direction towards Brindisi, a drive of around 10 minutes will bring you to Torre Guacato (at the “Serranova” turnoff). This is a WWF protected National Park with a stunning, totally unspoilt beach and nature walks / cycle paths behind it. This is by far our overall favourite beach in the region.

For those who prefer to hang around in a trendy “Chill Out Bar” and dive from the rocks, there is “Jimmiz Bar” at Gorgonola Beach. Another trendy beach bar which also stays open into the night is "Quarto di Monte" on Monticelli Beach.

For more fun in the water, there is a swimming pool at the ”American Bar” (follow the road to the mini-roundabout at Villanova Port and turn left) or the water park called “In-Aqua” at Lamaforca Beach.

The Ostuni / Ostuni Centre area

Puglia has some of the finest and best value foods and wines in the country. Wine shops (“Entoteca’s”) and supermarkets are stocked with top quality DOCG wines from around £2 per bottle and an 8-course starter (“antipasti” ) in a top restaurant will cost from around £8!

Of all the many restaurants in and around the Centro Storico we have only ever found two that we DON’T highly rate (the “Locanda Dei Peccati” and the “Don Chisciotte”!).

However our favourite ones amongst the many others are ;
1. Osteria La Sparacima (Next to “Locanda Dei Peccati” mentioned above….don’t get confused !)
2. Osteria Piazzetta Cattedrale (Continue up road from the cathedral main doors, to the top end. It’s on the left. Rated in top 20 European restaurants by Guardian newspaper, but still cheap!)
3. Al Solito Posto (Around the back of the cinema to the left of the Centro Storico)
4. L’Osteria Del Tempo Perso (Michelin Guide)

Ryan air fly direct to Brindisi and Bari from Stansted Airport.
BA fly from Gatwick to Bari.

“Lovely flat in the lovely old town in Ostuni” Charming apartment in a lovely part of the old town. Unlike other parts of Italy, not touristy at all. Great views from the terrace. It has a real wow factor! It is really like a home away from home. Tasteful interiors. Made it feel homey. Very nice piazza nearby and restaurants with amazing food.

“Great location, well appointed apartment.” Friendly welcome and well equipped first floor apartment. Kitchen has a small washing machine which is a gem and drying lines are available on balcony. All the bits and pieces to prepare and eat your own food are available as well as a stove top espresso and microwave. Bathroom small but functional but shower suffers from low water pressure which can be frustrating. Living space comfortable and roomy as are bedrooms. Maybe a bit cramped for 4 adults as main bedroom accessed from the other bedroom which in turn connects directly from the living room. Terrace access is great for summer.
