Home description
The house is a traditional ‘trullo’, with its five big cones and three small ones, among olive and fruit trees of Apulia countryside, but has been newly renovated to assure all conforts. Its thick stone walls and vaulted ceilings ensure a cool climate in summer time and warmth in winter. In the evening you can grill excellent meat from Martina Franca over the barbecue and drink special apulian wines, or enjoy cooking pizzas in the pizza oven besides the house.

The Puglia/Molise region
In Apulia ,in southeastern Italy, farming is the chief occupation. Farm products include olives, grapes, cereals, almonds, figs, tobacco and livestock. One of the richest in Italy for archeological findings, the region was settled from the 1st millennium BC by several Illyric and Italic peoples. Later, the Greeks expanded until reaching the area of Taranto and the Salento. Apulia is an enormous environmental treasure, in surface like in the underground. (unforgettable the Castellana underground caves). Apulia is famous all over the world for the taste and the quality of its typical cuisine.
Ostuni area
The trullo is located half a way between Ionic and Adriatic Sea (approx. 25 km from each side), surrounded by beautiful small towns like Grottaglie, well-known for its ceramic handicrafts (11 km), Martina Franca, also called ‘the small Lecce’, with its beautiful baroque old palaces and churches and a big golf club nearby (12 km), Ostuni, the ‘white town’ (17 km), Cisternino, with its traditional street butcheries (15 km), Alberobello, wellknown for its 'trulli' constructions (aprx 30 km), the nice village of Locorotondo (20 km), Fasano and its "Zoosafari": a safari park and funfair for younger visitors, and Taranto, the big harbour, with its historical buildings, seafood restaurants, surrounded by archaeological ‘messapic’ sites. Many religious and folk music festivals ( like "Notte della Taranta" festival in August ) take place in the region in summer time.
