Villa Santoro is a superb restoration of a typical Puglia trullo with small masseria attached. The Austrian designer and Milanese Architect have kept faithully the original vernacular style at the same time as creating a superb minimalist intrerior with all possible conveniences. The 4 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ensure the highest degree of luxury for your holiday. Large living areas with kitchen and dining room are superbly appointed. Outside, the 2 acres of garden set in surrounnding olive groves and vineyards have outside seating and dining terraces looking out over the wonderful 22M beach pool and panoramic views.
The area surrounding the villa incorporates the Vall d'Itria and is unlike any other part of Italy. Delightful rolling hills with olive groves, all kinds of fruit orchards, vineyards, all interspersed with the ubiquitous trulli and occasional dramatic masseria. The area is renowned for it's fresh produce,meats, vegetables, fruits and, of course fine wines. Reasonably priced and generally fine local restaurants are to be found along with wonderful architecture in nearby towns such as Ostuni, Martina Franca and Cisternino. Lecce, the Florence of the south is just 1 hour away. The beaches of the Adriatic and Ionian seas are all ithin 25 minutes to 45 minutes away.

The Puglia/Molise region
Puglia is a varied region from the mountains, forests and rocky coasts of the Gargano, the hilly plateau that is the Murge where Villa Santoro is to be found, the flat coastal plains of the Adriatic and Ionian coasts down to the vast vineyards and emptiness of the Salento, edged by fabulous coastal scenery. Sandy and rocky beaches are within 25 minutes drive or further if feeling adventurous
The towns of Cisternino, Martina Franca, Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica show the tumultuus history that has formed present day Puglia with it's Norman, Baroque, Greek and Saracen architecture for all to see in their nspoiled centri storici. Here are found wonderful restaurants and food markets showing the breadth and quality of Puglia produce. The wines of Puglia are worth the visit alone!
There are many places to visit for fascinating days out, including Lecce the Florence of the south, Matera, Alberobello the trulli town, Caste del Monte, fabulous grottoes and many other places.
The climate in June, July, August and September is hot, however the constant cooling breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian seas keep Villa Santoro beautifully comfortable. May and October can also be beautiful with slightly more changeable weather. Even in November and December temperatures can reach 25C with beautiful clear skies.

How to get there
Daily flights alternating out of London Stansted to Bari or Brindisi. The villa is 1 hour's drive from Bari and 40 minutes from Brindisi. It is also possible to fly BA to Bari on Thursdays and Saturdays. Easyjet, Alitalia and BA fly to Naples and Pescara about 3 hour's drive away. There are now numerous internal cheap Italian flights run by the likes of Volareweb, Alpi Eagles and Blue Express to Bari and Brindisi from many of the major Italian cities. Full driving directions are given upon booking.
