The Puglia/Molise region

Apulia or Puglia? Well, there is no doubt about the rich and colourful geological formation of this hidden territory; whether you take a geographical, historical or morphological point of view. As a first time visitor, the vastness of this sub-Mediterranean region of Italy from the Terra of Bari to Salento, provides many dominating, surprising and individualistic elements.

Surrounded by bodies of water with nor a beginning nor an end...panoramic routes that trip the coastline, olive trees on mass as far as the eye can see, hilltop villages, sleepy lagoons and underground caverns and grottoes.

Puglia is a region to be visited in all four seasons with a meteorological climate encouraging the preservation of vast natural reserves such as Torre Guaceto and unusal animal and wildlife habitation which can be experienced at the Zoo Safari Fasano.

Many of the major attractions of the Valle d'Itria are on the doorstep of Villa Mandorle; Alberobello, Martina Franca, Ostuni and Locorotondo and a short hop to some of the coastal towns such as the picturesque Polignano a Mare, popular holiday resort of Torre Canne or the local fishing town of Monopoli.

Cisternino is a local market town turn festival city during the summer months. Many of the local areas celebrate local produce of food and wine with a festa called a "Sagra" whlich is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself into the Pugliese lifestyle and culture but equally taste some of the gasgtronomic delights on offer.

Two important music festivals are featured in August in the Cisternino area. The AlterFesta takes place around the most important national festival day of the year, the 15th August; Assunzione a religious festival and at the end of August begins the festival "Pietre che cantano" with a string of bands and music concerts to entertain all ages with dancing and animation in the streets of the historic town.

There are many sporting opportunities for the energetic, with bike tours passing through the masserie and trulli countryside or choose a water sport with rafting or torrent walking, plus much much more.

Feel free to ask questions and enquire about activities featured during your stay at Villa Mandorle.

"Peaceful Paradise!"

The views from this beautiful villa have to be seen to be believed!
Very peaceful location only 25 minutes from the coast with many quaint towns to be explored in the surrounding area.
The inside of the villa is lovely with high curved ceilings and with 3 bathrooms there were never any fights for the shower. The large pool was great for cooling off. We loved having dinner outside on the terrace in the evenings looking out onto the beautiful flowerbeds and fantastic view beyond.
Will definitely be going back next year!

"beautiful villa with fantastic pool"

beautiful villa, fantastic pool, great welcome meeting, the villa comes with lots of info on where to go, eat, supermarkets etc. Only downside is no air conditioning and we went when very hot, although there are fans in the villa.

we have built a new large changing room with a bathroom near to the pool
and gazebo

"Comfortable but out of the way location."

Nice villa, spacious, well equipped accomodation and very comfortable beds! Internal window shutters need some method of securing open, as weather quite breezy at times - sleep disturbed.
Once gardens / surrounding grounds completed could be really lovely.
Good size pool but sadly lacking shower and 'loo' so had to trail back up to house .......
Would recommend 4 wheel drive or smallish car and bring a sat nav as would have got completely lost returning from our first trip out!

metal hooks have now been added to all the window shutters , to allow the gentle breeze to air the villa
