Only a few kilometres from the beautiful “White City” of Ostuni and the attractive beaches of the Adriatic coast, lies Terra Sessana.

This prestigious complex spans 4 hectares and consists of 3 properties: a restored Trullo house from the 1700s; a romantic one bedroom house, built in a local architectural style, known as a “Lamia” and a Villa with a large garden overlooking the sweeping fields of the Sessana district.

The property takes its name from the area in which it is located: Contrada Sessana, whose name, in turn, derives from the Latin “sanus”, meaning “healthy” and brings to mind the idea of a healthy life in harmony with nature.

Each property has its own swimming pool set in private gardens with lush lawns, ancient olive trees and views across the surrounding countryside. The interiors have been tastefully decorated with refined yet comfortable furnishings, which perfectly complement the antique flooring and stone vaulted ceilings.

The blue sky, olive trees, fragrance and colours of the natural Mediterranean vegetation provide a perfect backdrop to this enchanting place; offering guests peace and serenity in close contact with the regenerative powers of the countryside.

"The trulli", "the villa" and "the lamia" are self contained and autonomous, and can be rented together or separately.

The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia, also known as Apulia, is in the south of Italy; the heel of Italy's boot. The region is not one of Italy's traditional tourist destinations, but it is becoming increasingly popular as travellers discover the area's varied charms: baroque towns, white-washed trullo houses, olive groves and orchards, blue sea and beaches, plenty of sunshine and excellent cuisine.

Puglia is a food and wine lover’s paradise. One reason is that the fresh produce is of such high quality. Indeed, many of the basic elements of the Italian kitchen originate from Puglia.

Many quality wines are produced here, 10% of the European production to be more precise with the best reds from Salento region.

Above all, it is the dramatic and varied natural beauty - including some of italy’s most spectacular coastline that will leave it’s impression, as will the warm welcome of the hospitable people of southern Italy.

Puglia's most striking tourist attraction - because it is so unique - is the trulli district, around Alberobello (a UNESCO World Heritage site). A trullo is a simple dry-stone-walled building with a domed roof topped by a cone. They are dotted around the green Valle d'Itria, and in Alberobello the town's large clusters of white-washed trulli create an unusual and memorable scene. Also striking, in a more sophisticated style, is Lecce, a town famed for its baroque beauty: all golden stone and elegant seventeenth-century architecture with riots of cherubs and foliage.

On the whole, the smaller towns of Puglia, and the countryside, make better holiday destinations than the big port cities. Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Cisternino and Ostuni are all picturesque hilltop towns scattered around the Valle d'Itria. Along the coast, Otranto is one of the most attractive seaside resorts, with a picturesque old town and blue waters.

Puglia is served by two airports at Bari and Brindisi and most of the region can be reached from these airports within 1 hours drive.

Ostuni

Ostuni, town of the Alto Salento, is located in a panoramic site on three hills which view on the coastal Murgia. Its name come from the greek “Astu–neon”, new town, built by the Messapi in the early 1000 a.C., on the remaining of more ancient ruins. Today it is known as the “White City”, for the shine of its houses of the old town centre and it is an important and unique example of the south Italian architecture.

On the top of the hill is the Cattedrale the most important monument of Ostuni. Built in the XV century, in the late gothic style, it has a huge variety of decorations. The interior of the church is dated back 1700 and the square in front of the church hosts the elegant palazzo Vescovile built between the XVI and XVIII centuries.
