Home description
Lovely villa to let amidst orchards and olive groves. There are 3 bedrooms (two doubles and one twin), two bathrooms, a large sitting room with kitchen area recently updated. There is a sofa-bed in the living room which sleeps 2. The veranda is large for both relaxing and dining and gets plenty of sun all day.
Villa Mimosa is in extensive grounds and set back from the road. It is ideal for a peaceful private stay but also only 2 miles from the famous 'white city' Ostuni which comes alive on summer evenings.
The coast is nearby, the closest beach being Torre Santa Sabina only 12 mins drive away. Other resorts such as Torre Canne are a short distance from the villa, as are all the baroque towns of the Itria Valley and the baroque jewel Lecce.

The Puglia/Molise region
Puglia is rich in history and is, in many respects, different from the rest of Italy. While it provides the visitor with all those things associated with Italy - fine food, cheap, robust wines, the noise and colour of festas and friendly locals, it also has attractive surprises. The Greeks, Romans and Normans have all left their mark and Saracen invaders mean there are many hilltop towns and interesting castles. Summers are hot and dry. The summer temperatures are moderated by the fact that anywhere in the 'heel' of Italy is never far from the sea. Summers last through September and into October - a good time to visit!
Ostuni area
Ostuni, the 'White City', with its dazzling whitewashed buildings and narrow winding alleyways is reminiscent of Greece. It comes alive on summer evenings with its many bars, restaurants and festivals. Close by there are a number of very attractive perched towns such as Cisternino and Ceglie Mesapica, as well as the more elegant baroque towns of Martina Franca and Lecce. The famous 'trulli' town, Alberobello, a UNESCO site, is a short drive away. Sandy beaches on both the Ionian and Adriatic coasts are just a short distance from the villa.
How to get there
Ryanair flies into both Bari and Brindisi from Stansted. Alitalia flies into Bari from Heathrow and BA to Bari from Gatwick. There are many car hire companies. Auto-Europe is good and also Hertz. There is also Avis, Europcar and Thrifty. Bari is approx an hour and a half north of the villa, and Brindisi a little less than half an hour south.
