The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lombardy is bordered by Switzerland (north: Canton Ticino and Canton Graubünden) and by the Italian regions of Emilia-Romagna (south), Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and Veneto (east), and Piedmont (west). Three distinct natural zones can be fairly easily distinguished in the Lombardy region: mountains, hills and plains.
The climate of this region is continental. We have a very pleasant temperature climate, springtime starts in April. The warmest month is July (30 degrees C). The Alpine foothills lakes exercise a mitigating influence, permitting the cultivation of typically Mediterranean produce (olives, citrus fruit).
Ossuccio area
Ossuccio is located about 20 km from Como 4 Km from Tremezzo and 8 km from Menaggio. Opposite the island Comacina, the only island in the lake.
Ossuccio has the famous Gothic tower and if you like walking on the slope of the mountain at 400 mt you can visit Il Santuario della Madonna del Soccorso and during the walk 14 baroque temples.
Ossuccio has a few typical bars and a few restaurants with local regional food. In 5 minutes by car you reach Lenno called "Il golfo di Venere".
Swimming and sunbathing: In 5 minutes walk you can reach the Lido of Ossuccio with a beautiful meadow and 1 kiosk on the bank of the Lake. Excursion: Isola Comacina Villa Balbianello, Villa Carlotta, Villa Melzi, Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation, Milan, Bergamo and Verona, and the weekly market.
