From the owner

Welcome to our beautiful paradise, only 12 minutes from downtown Oslo by tram, 5 minutes by car. From this area you can enjoy the view of the fjord and you are close to lakes and forests.
If you're also interested in modern art, enjoy a quiet spot and animals, our annex villa, DUKKESTUEN, will be perfect for you.
Torhild, our son Nils Artur and myself, Henrik, live in the house next door.
Torhild is loves animals and has 30 individuals to care for, mostly birds, a few cats and rabbits, and the occasional stray dog. She also runs a small kindergarten from the house.
For the time being, DUKKESTUEN is available for rent in week-ends and Norwegian holiday periods.
DUKKESTUEN has heated floors everywhere, an open, operational fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, professional tools and and Nespresso coffe-maker.
The bathroom has a toilet, Light Therapy shower, sink and washing-machine.
The bedoom has a luxury twin bed (150x200cm), good storage facilities and art-filled walls.
The large living has a sofa that can be converted to a twin bed, a loft with room for two more, two armchairs and a dining/working table for ten, and there is a MacMini in good working order, superfast wifi and surround sound system.
There are also 1930s design furniture from Paris, modern art and design objects by Henrik himself, who is an architect and Graphic Designer.
Apple and rhubarb marmelade from the garden, and fresh eggs  if the birds oblige, is waiting in the fridge.
Henrik is a cooking enthusiast and will be positive to a meal request or your taking part in the cooking (subject to separate agreement).
The local focal point Holtet is 8 minutes from the property. The trams stop here, there are shops including the pharmacy and Norway's most renowned food market, Jacobs.
A few more minutes will take you to Ekeberg, the area for the world's biggest football tournament for children and youth in August, is a charming recreational area whether you prefer forest or park, or restaurant with a terrace view of all Oslo. Ekeberg kulturpark are now open, with open-air sculptures by artists of world renown. All access is free of charge.
If you enjoy cycling, the area is perfect and Henrik can take you out for sightseeing in the forest or town if you like (subject to separate agreement). We have bikes for use free of charge - currently two.
In winter there is a short walk to skiing and playing grounds, and Tryvann vinterpark, for those who like advanced alpine skiing challenges, is easily accessible by metro. Oslo also has several hundred square kilometres of forests and lakes, with 100s of kms of paths in summer and professionally groomed cross-country skiing in summer.
If you want the Oslo Card (tourist pass) or similar, we'll arrange it, just give us a bit of notice.
We'll also arrange transfer from the Central Station. We'll do it for free if we're available.
The car ride is about five minutes.
If you take a taxi, it would normally be NOK 220-260 in daytime.
