The Umbria region
Ficulle is an enchanting medieval village with several shops/ restaurants/ pizzerias etc. Orvieto is a beautiful hilltop cathedral town with designer Italian shops, restaurants.and plenty to explore. The city even carries on underground and has a rail station with easy routes to both Rome, Florence and Siena- enjoy a full days sightseeing and be back in time for an al fresco dinner on the terrace overlooking the stunning Orvieto Valley. Take a trip to the lakes -Trasimeno and Bolsena are not far away. Here you can enjoy all watersports/ fishing etc. Treat yourself to a freshly caught fish lunch on the lake shores. Or how about a trip to Assisi to marvel at the fantastic duomo of St Francis- an experience never to be forgotten. Or if its peace and quiet you are after, what better than doing some shopping for delicious traditional organic foods and wine and just chill out with a romantic candle lit meal on the terrace.

Daily flights from the U.K to the two international Rome airports. Hire cars available at both airports. By road approx 120kms(1 hour 20 mins) on the A1 northbound (Firenze direction) exit Orvieto.There is a mainline train station in Orvieto and car hire available.
