Home description
Our property is owned by an American/Italian family, and is immersed in the natural setting of the Calanchi canyon overlooking the medieval jewel of Civita di Bagnoregio. We are on Etruscan land, which allows total privacy and undisturbed views, while access to great shopping and restaurants are in the nearest village.
The home has three bedrooms and four baths, a swimming pool and all of the comforts to make a holiday perfect. I would be happy to send a detailed description if requested, and am available to answer any questions regarding the property itself, prices, availability, and child safety issues.
In addition to the main house and guest house which are always let together, we have another small cottage down the private road available as of summer 2008. It is ideal for a couple or 2 adults plus a child. There is an English speaking caretaker on the premises.

The Umbria region
Umbria has so much to offer, Lake Bolsena and the coast are reachable for a day trip. Guests have evn ventured off to the Giglio island for the day. The region is full of wineries and shops tucked away in medieval villages, while the bigger towns of Orvieto and Viterbo offer theater, museums, and fabulous shopping. Summers are usually dry and warm in the day while our house is cool at night with starry skies and few mosquitoes. Once considered a "poor man's Tuscany", Umbria is now one of the most popular tourist areas for both Italians and foreigners, but still manageable and not overcrowded.
Orvieto Bolsena area
Within 20 minutes drive you can reach the villages of Bolsena, Civita di Bagnoregio (5 minutes), Orvieto and Todi. A bit farther out and you acn visit Pittigliano, Sovana and Sorano for their magestic beauty and great vinyards, Florence and Rome are both within 1 12 hours by fast train and very well serviced. Amelia and Viterbo are close, as is Perugia.
How to get there
International airport, Rome Fiumicino or Ciampino (Easy Jet, Ryan Air). Rent a car as it is essential to have a car and drive less than two hours.
