About the home

Located on a hillside organic farm, Torre Bisenzio, L'Ulivo is part of a 19th C farm house that has been beautifully restored into two-semi detached houses. L'Ulivo is very light and bright with doors opening onto patios with lovely views. Every details has been chosen with great care to provide the feel of country side living with the luxury of modern facilities. There is a large heated swimming pool and a beautifully landscaped garden. There is also a BBQ and pizza oven. All outdoor facillities are shared with the other apartment La Magnolia. The dining room opens onto a common patio which is tastefully divided by plants to give privacy to the apartments. There is also another private outdoor covered dining area for L'Ulivo with views towards the olive grove and mountains in the distance. The grounds has an organic vegetable garden that produces vegetables such as tomatoes, aubergines, zucchini in abundance. Guests can help themselves to those. We can also provide some farm olive oil and wine for guests to try the estate produce.

As a result of its position on the hill, the property has stunning views over Tuscany and Umbria. It is also conveniently located about 6 miles off the A1 Autostrada and yet is totally peaceful. Casa Bassa is ideally located for day trips to places like Orvieto, Siena, Florence, Perugia, Montepulciano, and many more.

Within the property, guests can enjoy beautiful walks and ride bikes that can be rented from nearby villages. For horse enthusiasts, there is a stable 2km away, where horse riding can be arranged. There are many vineyards in the area that can be visited with or without prior arrangement.

The Umbria region

The Orvieto Bolsena area

Orvieto is a city in southwestern Umbria, situated on the flat summit of a large volcanic tufa plateau, above the almost-vertical tufa cliffs and surrounded by walls built of the same stone . This together with the tiled roofs give Orvieto its charming character. Apart from being a lovely way to spend a day walking and discovering, the main sights to see in Orvieto are the Duomo, the etruscan tunnels and caves and the various museums.

Other cities within 1hr30 mins drive and recommended for day trips are Perugia, Assisi and Gubbio within Umbria and Siena, Arezzo, Florence in Tuscany.
