The entire property can be rented as a single unit and is great for a group of friends or family reunions. The main modern house sleeps 2 adults and 3 children very comfortably. The stone cottage sleeps a couple and the farmhouse has two apartments which each sleep 4/5 people. In addition there is a stone cottage studio which sleeps 2.
Very safe for children, the swimming pool 60 ft long (with a window to the deep end from the filter room which makes for great pictures) is fully fenced and the garden has a swing and climbing frame as well as plenty of space to keep young explorers busy.
The terrace can be closed to the garden to limit the movement of toddlers if need be.
The outside dining table accommodates 12 adults and the main Boffi kitchen is wonderful for those who like to cook in company with a glass of our own wine in hand. Each apartment and cottage has its own kitchen as well and can be self-contained if need be.
Day trips can take you to the beaches of Forte Dei Marmi or Cinque Terre where a boat rental or a walk can bring you to spectacular spots. For a bit of culture Parma, Lucca and Pisa are all within very easy reach of an just over an hour. Florence is further afield at 2 hours but also quite doable. Closer to home the village of Bagnone is 4km away and has a number of restaurants, food shops and cafes.
The property itself is reached via a dirt road 1.8kms long and is extremely private. We have a huge garden, a vineyard, an olive grove and some fruit trees from which you are welcome to pick in season.
Kids will delight in the trampoline, the swimming pool, the swings and tightrope as well as the ping pong table when time away from the sun is called for. 2 areas of WiFi in the main house reach some of the garden, all others houses have Ethernet data points. TV in the master bedroom and hi fi and DVD/TV in the main house with lots of English language as well as Italian dvd movies.
Swimming and diving in the river is great fun in Bagnone as is the Monday mornings market for fresh produce.
A daily cleaner can be arranged.

The Tuscany region
The Lunigiana is a hilly land of Medieval castles and villages in northern Tuscany within easy reach of the Ligurian and Tuscan coast. The area is loved for its nature and food which is a great marriage of Tuscan, Ligurian and Emilia Romagna regional cuisines.
The coast with Lerici, Cinque Terre and Forte dei Marmi an easy drive and uniquely it offers long sandy beaches to the south and stunning rocky landscape to the north.
The cities of Lucca, Pisa and Parma are just over an hour's drive.
Orturano di Bagnone
Swimming and diving in the Bagnone river at Anguillara is an idyllic must as is exploring the waterfall in the woods behind the house
Lots of summer sagras (outdoor village fetes normally around a specific food or drink), Cinque Terre with an easy 9.17 am train every morning.

"Beautiful modern family house in quiet rural location"
The house is large and modern with a great kitchen, so ideal for anyone who likes to cook. I can imagine the large terrace would be ideal for dinners outside but being November when we were there this wasn't an option :-). Similarly, we didn't make use of the large swimming pool. The property is in an extremely quiet location and so perfect for getting away from it all. Also, being in the countryside it's a very convenient location for walking.
However, shops and restaurants are not too far away in Bagnone.

"EVEN NOW I CAN THINK BACK TO MY STAY IN VAGGIA AND I BEGIN TO RELAX!"
We travelled as a group of seven. Six adults and one child. We flew to Pisa, but Milan would work almost as well. We picked up a hire can and after a beautiful drive up in to the tuscan hills, we found, down a quiet private road, the most amazing place to stay.
Vaggia, which is made up of about three or four properties, is just outside a town called Bagnone. The property has four buildings which are, the main house (the modern looking one), the old farmhouse, the gate house and another self-contained bedroom/bathroom on the way to the pool. I honestly think this place could house nearly 30 people. It would be great for a large group of friends or family to share. There was plenty to keep my 5 year old entertained, and my parents, both retired, loved it too.
The kitchen is huge, and modern in design and functionality. There are lots of bathrooms and showers. and ample parking for 6-8 cars. There is a lovely terrace where you can eat outside, and of course there is the pool. The pool looks like it was designed for fun and fitness. It is long and thin (if you want to swim lengths) but there is a diving board and, my favourite bit, there is a window at the deep end that you can take photos of everyone underwater! Great idea!
We all felt so relaxed there, that often days would pass where we would do nothing but eat and relax. But for those other days, we explored the local area and found some beautiful old towns and villages, castles and oh the restaurants! The nearest town (Bagnone) has everything you would need, but you'll need a car. It's a long walk, especially uphill on the way back. There are fresh markets (on certain days) and a range of priced restaurants, all good.
Slightly further a field, the coast is a very pretty hours drive away, and we spent a magical day in Parma too. We also found a local river that was very cold, but amazing to swim and relax by.
Overall I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. We went there tired and stressed after months of hard work, and we left relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to face life again!!! Also we were a little heavier too - the food is soooooo damn good!
