This charming stone built cottage , sleeping up to 5 persons, is situated in an elevated position on the edge of the lovely village of Orton. The cottage offers comfortable well equipped accommodation with fabulous views across to the Orton Scar fells and down to the village and church.
To give you some idea of the landscape the recent BBC TV series "Lambing Live' was filmed on a farm only 5 miles away from Orton.
Orton is a traditional village with pub serving food and village shop and post office, yet only a short drive from the M6 motorway. The great Alfred Wainwright considered living here at one time stating that it is one of the loveliest of Westmoreland's villages. The famous Kennedy's hand made chocolate factory is based in Orton and has cafe serving the most delicious hot chocolate as well as shop selling their produce. On the second Saturday of every month is the Orton farmer's market renowned as being one of the best in Britain.
Scar View Cottage is ideally situated for both longer and shorter walks. Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk, as featured on TV with Julia Bradbury, passes through the village . Walks from the village lead over Orton Scar limestone fells with lovely ferns and wildlife.
Scar View Cottage offers a cosy cottage for all year round stays in an area which is quieter than the hustle and bustle of the honeypot areas of the Lake District yet has walks and wonderful scenery on the doorstep and easy access to the heart of Lake District.

Situated in one of the prettiest villages in the Eden Valley, within a vibrant farming community, semi-detached holiday cottage is close to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks and within 1 mile of the M6.
