The little town of Orte - situated on the rocks about 68 km north of Rome - towers high above the valley of the Tiber, it is close to the Florence-Rome motorway. From the point of view of accessibility and for going on outings it is hard to think of a better place. Rome, Viterbo, Orvieto, Tuscania, Tarquinia, Bagnaia, Civita di Bagnoreggio and the lake of Bolsena can all be reached within 30/45 minutes driving. It is also not far to the sea (around 1 hour driving). If you want to visit Rome by train, you just drive to the station of Orte Scalo (there is a train every 30/60 minutes).
3 Kms outside Orte it is possible to rent this villa with large garden and swimming pool, where you can have a maximum of 14 sleeping places. The villa is situated in a very quiet location, but in a few minutes you reach the motorway. When the villa is let the owner lives in the cottage situated 50 meters far away (there is no sight from the cottage to the garden/swimming pool and to the villa), the owner doesn't use the swimming pool when the villa is rented to respect the guest's privacy. The villa is distinguished by the extremely good taste in which it has been converted, the simplicity of the furniture and for the harmony that has been created with the external space. A large portico furnished with divans, armchairs and a large dining table completes off one side, and a living area with large windows creating a very pleasing continuity that is characteristic of the whole villa. From the portico, you can enter the kitchen and the living room. The pool is also accessed from the portico being situated immediately in front of the property.

The Lazio region
There are few areas in the world with so many cultural, archaeological and architectural sites of interest as the Italian region of Lazio. In the first place it is situated in the inexhaustible source of sites of interest in the city of Rome. Everyone know Rome but in the region Lazio there is much more to see. And then Lazio is also flanked on the west by the Mediterranean Sea with its crystal clear colours and numerous islands and in the east by the Apennine mountain ranges, well over 2000 metres. In Lazio nature and culture come together in every way. It is too little known that Lazio is also a region with various splendid lakes. The lakes of Bracciano, Bolsena, Vico and Castelgandolfo, to name the most important. Lakes that allow an abundance of water sports as a change from visiting towns, villages and mountain regions. Without exception easy to reach. And once at the lakes it is also easy to make daytrips by car. Some places to visit in Lazio: Tuscania, Tarquinia, Cerveteri, Bagnaia, Civita di Bagnoreggio, the palace of Caprarola. From northern Lazio it is also easy to visit many charming places in Umbria such as Orvieto, Todi, Spoleto, ……
Orte area

It is on the Milan-Rome motorway but you really don't hear the noise of the passing cars. A junction of two 4-lane motorways: north-south and east-west. From the point of view of accessibility and for going on outings it is hard to think of a better place. And yet you find there the countryside peace you need after a year of work. Rome, Viterbo, Orvieto, Tuscania, Tarquinia, Bagnaia, Civita di Bagnoreggio and the lake of Bolsena can all be reached in no time. It is also not far to the sea, although there are more beautiful places to go than the beach. If you want to visit Rome by train, you just drive to the station of Orte Scalo. To the east are Narni, Amelia, Piediluco etc.
