Home description

A delightful quiet village house in the main street of Orsan opposite the beautifully restored ancient lavoir (wash house). Orsan is a small Cote du Rhone wine producing village close to Chateau Neuf du Pape and the Rhone river. The village is at the foot of a plateau where Cesaer put his camp for the region.

After the sight seeing there interesting hill and forest walks, fishing, canoeing, cycling and many villages and markets to visit.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region

The property is perfect for visiting the famous townsof Orange, Uzes, Avignon, Nimes, the Pont du Gard and also the beautiful coast. The valley of the Ardeche and it's spectacular gorge is within 40 mins drive. Chateau Neuf du Pape is also within easy reach.

Orsan area

The village has two restaurants, one gourmet and a good value pizzeria, Post Office, shop and wine cave. Friendly residents and a lovely neighbour provides help (English speaking) if needed, and offers interesting insight and tours of the area. Nearest super market is Bagnols sur Ceze approx 5 Miles. There are many good restaurants in this small town and a good market on a Wednesday.

Avignon has a festival during July and August, and Orange has operas in a lovely open air amphitheatre during
July and Agust also.

How to get there

Fly to Montpellier or Nimes with Ryan Air or British Airways aprox time from house is 50 mins.by car.

Car hire available with HERTZ , EUROPECAR etc, all available at airport or TGV station
