Home description

In the middle of the country with no other noise than the bird songs, but 5 minutes from a Michelin 1 star restaurant, Le Hosse can accommodate all your desires. The house is large enough to give privacy, but intimate enough to have an "atmosphere". Spend the day around the swimming pool (4 x 9 m) or walk in the forests, go to the local markets....

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Landes region

Landes is agricultural region, which has kept its traditions live. But the hum and buzz of today's world is less than 1 hours away (Biarritz), and Bordeaux vineyards are 1h45 minutes drive. Holidays can be split between very diverse activities: along the hundreds of km of sandy ocean beach (surf), exploring the country side, and taste wines and foie gras, go to the casino of Biarritz, go to the Pyrennes mountains (walk, rafting...), eat tapas in San Sebastian, play golf on one of the 8 neighbouring 18 holes courses, ride, etc.

May to September is nice and sunny, but evenings and nights can be cool.
Weather changes rapidly, due to the Atlantic Ocean tides.

Orist area

Loads of activities are in the area, such as golf, bullfights & village festivals. Depending on the weather and the mood, one can stay at le Hosse (pool, bicycle, riding, walking), or explore the region. The saturday morning market of Dax (20 km) is a "must" for farm grown products of all kinds. Most week-ends also have antique fairs in the various towns around.

How to get there

Pau or Biarritz airport are 45 mn drive. Air France, Easyjet and Ryanair daily from Paris, London and many European cities.
Dax TGV is 20 mn away. Travel time from Paris is 4h 15
St Geours de Maremne exit of the Paris/Biarritz Motorway is 10 km away
