About the home

Welcome to our beautiful eco friendly villa, fully solar/wind powered. It has a lovely open plan lounge leading through an arch to the dining kitchen, there are two bedrooms with double beds, one bedroom twin beds, a cot available also. Furniture modern & stylish.

A peaceful location with gorgeous views nestled in the Spanish countryside. Locals are mainly Spanish with just a few English people. Lovely local walks will reward with the discovery of Old Spain. San Bartolome is a friendly village where visitors are welcomed with several bars some offer food and there is Chris's Pizzaria English named but Spanish owned, there is also a children's play area, massive outdoor swimming pool & the open market Tuesdays.

Trips to Guadamar a typically Spanish resort & Torrevieja will reveal lovely beaches, bars, restaurants, everything for the holidaymaker. Golf enthusiasts could find courses approx 10 miles away at Villa Martin. If you care to travel inland you will find the walking area of the Sierra Espuna - worth a visit if only to eat at the restaurants where the food is good, scenery wonderful & you can see the wild boars coming to be fed!

Only 7 kms away is the old Moorish capital city of Orihuela the architecture and historic buildings are something special and of course fabulous restaurants. This holiday location is unique set in orange groves yet close to beaches and night life, truly a holiday location that meets everyone's taste, and 360 degree panoramic view from your veranda. ENJOY!

Our villa was our home until we moved into an old farm just half a mile away. Consequently you will find the furnishings far above what you would normally find in a holiday villa, because this is truly a holiday home. With a light modern Spanish feel to the interior design it affords every comfort.. With wardrobes in each room there is plenty of storage for personal effects that allows you to feel at home. Les and Julie who look after the villa and you our guests are always at hand and live locally in the village, just ask and they will be there for whatever you need. They can point you to best places to shop, eat, the best beaches, in fact they will show you the best of everything, or leave you to your own devices, you decide.

The views, the views the views, and then the garden, just paradise. The BBQ with a vine covered area and large dining table & 6 chairs allows for long lunches and even longer evening meals. The front porch of villa also has table & 6 chairs, being raised you have uninterrupted views of the pool, gardens, orange groves and far off hills.. The garden is fully fenced with established plants & palm trees, large gates secure the area. With the pool right there please don't forget the little one's, children must be accompanied at all times. There are gates on the terrace which helps to secure the house from the pool area but this would not be enough to deter a determined child - you must take responsibility for any children using this facility. But then you know that.

HEALTH & SAFETY NOTICE (Sorry) - Every effort has been made to provide a safe and comfortable holiday home,as this property is our second home and only otherwise available to family, friends etc for a total of 30 days per year, it is therefore not subject to any Public Liability Insurance Policy. As such, should you require insurance for your holiday you must make your own inquiries prior to arriving at the villa. Naturally there are risks in staying anywhere that is not familiar. I would therefore encourage you to familiarise yourself with, possible slip, trip and smash hazards, exercise caution when using appliances, children should be monitored/supervised at all times. Possible risks attached to the pool has been brought to your attention prior to your stay. No smoking is allowed in the villa. We cannot be responsible for any article owned by occupants that are lost or misplaced & would ask that any breakages are reported or replaced. Our aim is to provide a high standard holiday home for ourselves, our friends and colleagues & paying guests. Please note for restricted mobility people there are approximately 4 steps into the house

Conditions

We would be amenable to shorter breaks as long as this fitted in with other bookings. No Hen/Stag breaks. Anyone wanting longer lets would need to discuss with ourselves. More of a family holiday villa.

Yes this is paradise - we think.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Spanish countryside, beautiful views from villa. Lots of historic areas in close by Oriheula which has strong Moorish roots has lots of old architecture, including monastery on the hill - this is a good walk but worth if for the view of the area.

Also worth a visit although a drive of around one hour is Cartagena when you can sit by the harbour and watch the cruise liners dock or go up in the lift to view the old ruined castle. Sierra Espuna which is inland is beautiful for scenery, wildlife and lots of good walking - plenty of places to eat at the end of your walk.

Elche is also around 40 minutes drive and again historic place with lovely old buildings - well worth a visit. You must not miss the unique Mar Menor, the inland sea, close by this a the mud lakes, led the child i you surface and cover yourself in the sulphur mud and lay i the hot springs to wash it off at San Pedro.

The Orihuela / San Bartolome, Alicante area

San Bartolome is essentially a Spanish village with bars of which some offer food and a pizzaria. San Bartolome enjoys a festival during August which lasts for four days over the weekend - would have to check for dates - the village hardly sleeps and the music is LOUD!

However you can escape back to a peaceful holiday home. Oriheula has numerous festivals through the year and these can be checked via the Tourist Information for that area - the Moors and Christians procession which is repeated throughout the local villages is well worth seeing - much bigger and better than anything we see in England and goes on forever!

Villa is situated equally between Murcia and Alicante airports with good roads to the area, the journey should take around 40 minutes. Budget airlines Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2 and Monarch fly to one or other airport. We would recommend Holiday Autos or Rentanewcar for car hire as they are very competitively priced.

“Idyllic” We stayed at this Villa during the last week of July and the first week of August this year. This Villa is everything it says it is. It is truly in an idyllic setting and an ideal location, down a very quiet lane amongst orange and lemon groves yet only a short drive to the coastal towns or larger inland towns and cities. The Villa had everything we required and is fully equipped to a high standard. There are many places to visit and see in this part of Spain, so much so, we could not fit everything in, in the time we were there and, because we enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for next year. We holiday in Spain every year and have done so for many years and this Villa is by far the best we have stayed at.
