Villa Luana is a hydillic 17th century country villa in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, but within easy reach of the most beautiful Tuscan attractions, just 20 minutes from Lucca, 40 min. from Pisa and Forte dei Marmi, 50 min. from Florence, and close to many other famous places. The villa has a beautiful private swimming pool and a very large garden. The villa can sleep up to 11 people on two floors.

The villa was born from the love and care of Luana and Roberto, two thoughtful and caring Tuscan grandparents who wished to unite their family for the holidays or on special occasions. It took them as long as 10 years to renovate their 17th century home, with great attention to every detail, choosing the best materials and painstakingly seeking the best piece of furniture for every room.

The same enthusiasm and attention to detail was devoted to the grounds which have been turned into a beautiful park, entirely fenced, with a pond and a large fountain, a modern swimming pool, wonderful trees, plants and an orchard, and lots of grass for children to run and play. Luana and Roberto make sure the pool and the park are always cared for and in pristine order.

In the garden closest to the villa there are table and chairs for dining “al fresco” or just relaxing and playing cards. In the park surrounding the villa there is a wonderful private modern swimming pool, always kept in excellent condition. It measures 10 by 5 m. and is 1.40 m. deep. On one side there are large steps that go down into the water, to sit, sunbathe and relax whilst in the water, or for children to feel safe.

To the side of the pool is a sunbathing area with deck chairs and parasols.

With the materials recovered during the refurbishing works the owners built a small stone building with a barbecue area and a typical Tuscan wood burning oven traditionally used to cook pizza and bread of the most delicious kind.

Concerning the villa itself, you enter on the ground floor into a hall area. It is enough to take a look at the original tiles of the flooring, the wooden beamed ceilings and the original staircase to enjoy the charm of this century-old villa.

Turning left from the hall you will find a large living room with a very large sofa, a two-seat smaller sofa and two armchairs, a big fire-place, a table, a flat screen TV, a French window with exit onto the garden, and a door with exit onto a beautiful veranda equipped with basket table and chairs.

Turning right from the hall you will find a large typical Tuscan style kitchen with a big fireplace, table and chairs, a stone basin, a TV, a fridge, a freezer, a stove/oven, a toaster, a dishwasher and a French door with exit onto the garden.

On the ground floor there are also a bathroom and a double bedroom, which can be accessed from the living room, the kitchen, but can also be entered by an independent access on the other side of the building. All the rooms on the ground floor have terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings.

If you take the original stone stairs to the 1st floor you will find a gorgeous bathroom with 2 wonderful marble basins, a wc, a bidet and an elegant and wide shower.

At the end of the hall on your left you will find the largest and most beautiful bedroom of the house (8x5 m.). It is furnished with a double bed, a large wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a stone fireplace, a single bed. There is also a large window on one side and a French window looking down onto the veranda on the other side.

On the first floor there is also another double bedroom with a wardrobe, and there are two large carefully furnished twin bedrooms, both with two iron-framed traditional Tuscan single beds, a large wardrobe and a window with view of the garden and the surrounding countryside.

There is also a modern and functional second bathroom with a wc, a bidet and a shower.

All the bedrooms have beautiful parquet tile floors and wooden beamed ceilings.

Luana and Roberto have really made an effort to create a very pleasant and elegant atmosphere.

The Tuscany region

Villa Luana is the ideal accommodation for a family or group of friends up to 11 people who want to visit the main attractions of Tuscany, because of its strategic position only 5 km away from the highway connecting Florence, Pistoia, Montecatini (Thermal Baths), Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio (seaside), Forte dei Marmi and other famous places. Villa Luana is the perfect location to visit the main attractions of Tuscany.

Orentano

In the centre of Orentano, less than 5 minutes away, you can find grocery stores, cafes, a butcher and a traditional baker. There is also a well-known pastry shop still following an old tradition of pastry making.

To eat out we reccommend the Trattoria-Pizzeria da Benito, one of the most famous restaurants of the area. It has attracted more than 400 reviews on Tripadvisor from fully-satisfied customers. Their absolute specialty is the typical very thick grilled Tuscan steak, absolutely delicious at an affordable price, but they also serve traditional starters, pasta dishes and pizza. Remember to reserve a table in advance because the restaurant is always fully booked.

Within 15km distance there are also a golf course, thermal resorts, tennis courts and many other activities.

Guided wine-tasting tours can be arranged for you, as well as any other activity you might be interested in. We can arrange visits to artisan ceramic or copper pot workshops, we can reserve concert or theatre tickets for you, etc… according to your interests.

We can also organize your wedding, anniversary, birthday party or other events and take care of all the details.

Here in Orentano you can enjoy the wine and the olive oil produced not far from the villa or the typical food of our area. We can arrange to have groceries delivered to your door by the local shop keeper on his bicycle.

Orentano is well known for the “Sagra della pizza” – a pizza and beer festival where you can experience the hustle and bustle of Tuscan life and at the same time eat pizza or grilled meat and listen to music. The traditional local “Sagra” takes place throughout June and July.

The ancient pastry tradition of the village is celebrated every year with a local event called the “Cream puff Festival” (“Sagra del Bignè”) , on the third Sunday of August.

There are other “sagras” (festivals) of all kinds in neighboring towns and villages. There are also historical festivals like, for example, the Medieval Festival in Monte Castello, Lucca, Nozzano, Buti, and many other places which take place from May to September, but especially during the summer months of June, July and August.

Only 5 km from Orentano you can find the small town of Altopascio with all kinds of shops and a market on Thursdays. You can also find supermarkets and other stores (furniture, clothes, shoes, etc..).

From Altopascio you can catch a train or take the highway to go and visit Florence, Prato, Pistoia, Lucca, Montecatini, Viareggio, Pisa, and many other places. The famous historic and art cities of Florence, Pisa, Lucca, etc.. or the sea are within easy reach. The surroundings offer a lot for sport freaks and wellness lovers: tennis (4 km), golf course (15km), horse riding (5km), thermal resorts (15km) and fitness centres (7km).
