La Casa de la Gracia sits above the enchanting Orba valley, enjoying stunning views to the mountains and sea and overlooking the orange and lemon groves so famous in this area. The setting has all the advantages of being tranquil, peaceful and countrified and yet is not isolated; bars and restaurants being in easy walking distance.

La Casa de la Gracia offers choice for a family or group with different needs: Sunbathe by the pool, walk to a local bar, sail, play golf, shop 'til you drop, play tennis or surf the waves the choice is yours! It is ideal for those who want to embrace the peace of the countryside and also walk to the shops and bars,

Orba is a small town with a slow pace of life and Valencian traditions. The centre is a 12 minute walk away. Mas Y Mas, a Spanish Supermarket is 7 minutes walk and stands opposite an English run bar/cafe. Further into the town's centre there is a baker, a butcher, an English corner shop, a pharmacist and a 24 hour medical centre. There are also more small bars and lovely, little inexpensive restaurants. The central plaza or square has 2 cafes where you can sit, relax, eat tapas and watch the world go by.

La Casa de la Gracia is conveniently located an hours drive from Valencia and Alicante airports. We do not always insist on Sat. to Sat. bookings which can make a huge difference in flight prices.

The villa has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms (one ensuite). These include a king size bed, 4 singles (including bunk beds). Air conditioning is in all the bedrooms. NB Although we have 3 bedrooms with sleeping for 6, one bedroom is small and although it has adult sized bunk beds we do not consider the villa is comfortable for 6 adults. There is an 8m x 4m pool, exclusively for your use. Sun beds are provided around the pool for ultimate relaxation! There is also a cloakroom, with toilet, next to the front door and easily accessible from the pool so no one drips all over the villa, leaving lethally wet tiles! The kitchen is also near the pool with french windows through to the two outside eating areas and bbq. The citrus groves, a mere 5 min. walk away, provide an excellent place for walks and cycle rides. There is also a public tennis court 5 mins drive away.

We have endeavoured to make the villa home from home by providing books and games for children and adults. There is a television, a dvd and CD player and an internet connection is available. The villa has some outside space on a lower level which guests are welcome to use but it is not included in the price since it is still gradually being renovated. This happens in between guest bookings so the whole plot will be exclusively yours during your stay and you are welcome to help yourself to lemons from the tree in the right season!

The famously fertile Jalon Valley is next door to the Orba Valley and they both offer some amazing walking opportunities and caves to visit. Added to this, a few minutes drive away some of the best beaches, sailing, golf, restaurants and entertainment in the Costa Blanca await you. The largest shopping precinct on this Costa with 6 screen cinema, 10 pin bowling, world class food, Spanish Boutiques (and even the English shop C & A!) is less than a 10 minute drive!

5 star golf course resorts at La Sella and Oliva Nova are within 15 minutes drive but there may be room to practice a little putting in the villa grounds as Roland (my husband and joint owner) is a mad keen golfer and is determined to have plenty of practice space. Ask for an update on who's winning dominance... the sunbathing book fanatics (my daughter and I) or the boys and their golf! (Although, actually, there is space for both.)

The closest port town is Denia (20 min. drive or 1 hour public bus journey). It offers day cruises along the coast and ferries to Ibiza and plenty of restaurants, sandy beaches, sailing and a host of other activities. You can visit the castle in Denia in the coolness of the morning and then board a cruise boat and enjoy the sea breeze as you travel up the coast stopping when you want to explore or eat lunch at restaurants on route. (We recommend the fresh fish; especially prawns which are second to none!)

Benidorm is a 35 minute drive away and offers its famous night life as well as a fabulous range of family friendly theme parks: Aqualandia (water park), Terra Mitica (rides etc.), Terra Natura (animals you can see without visible barriers!) as well as Catamaran sailing, family bicycle tours, horse riding and Nordic Walking.

Jalon, Javea, Calpe, Altea and Gandia are all a 20 to 30 minute drive and offer a wide range of excursions. Jalon and Orba are well known for being good walking areas and this includes the challenge of 'The Thousand Step Walk'. There are natural parks close by to Orba with walks that boast great views to the sea. Altea is known for attracting artists and is a quaint town where you can 'browse' for hours as well as enjoy the views and the beach.

Valencia is a stunning city (1 hours train journey from Gandia or 75 mins in the car). We recommend the 'Marine Valencia' as the dolphin display is the most impressive we have ever seen. We were spellbound!

In some ways Orba feels as if it is in a time warp. It is a delightful mixture of the modern and the ancient! The area's stunning scenery and hideaway places once offered a final refuge to the Moors before they were finally expelled. Their influence continues, not just in the Arabic origins of the village names, but also visually in the architecture and terracing of the hillsides.

The area boasts more than 300 days of sunshine each year and Orba, lying a few miles inland from the area's warm, white sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, nestles in a fertile valley of olive, almond and citrus groves, sheltered by surrounding mountains. (Go in the Spring and see the almond blossom which is breath taking.)

The area around the villa used to be known as the medicine chest of Europe in medieval times as so many wild herbs flourish here!

We love La Casa de la Gracia and we think you will too!

The Valenciana region

The charming town of Orba lies a few miles inland from the area's famous white, sandy beaches and warm Mediterranean Sea. With more than 300 days of sunshine each year Orba nestles in a fertile valley of olive, almond and citrus groves, sheltered by surrounding mountains.

In some ways Orba feels as if it is in a time warp. It is a delightful mixture of the modern and the ancient! Their influence continues, not just in the Arabic origins of the village names but also visually in the architecture and terracing of the hillsides. It used to be known as the medicine chest of Europe in medieval times as so many wild herbs flourish here! On the other hand drive 10 minutes up the road to Ondara and you reach the largest shopping mall on the Costa Blanca with cinema, bowling, world class food, Spanish boutiques and English shops etc.!

5 star golf course resorts at La Sella and Oliva Nova are within 15 minutes drive. There are quiet unspoilt beaches 15 minutes drive away. It is possible to do a huge range of activities such as sailing, horse riding, go kart racing, playing tennis (courts are a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk) and, in the winter months, walking is popular and there is ski ing near to Valencia. On the other hand you can simply chill by the pool, explore some caves or find your own hiding place, away from the others.

La Casa de la Gracia is conveniently located an hours drive from Valencia and Alicante airports.

"A villa with great views conveniently positioned for sight seeing"

We have stayed at the villa twice, both times for a period of two weeks and we hope to visit again. Both times we have enjoyed being in the villa and have found it very adequately equipped for a family holiday and we have been very comfortable. The surrounding area has much to offer the holiday maker in sightseeing, beaches, walks and street markets. Local eating places provide variety and are reasonably priced. The fact that the villa has its own swimming pool is such a great bonus.

We are delighted you enjoyed your holiday with us and we are hoping to offer more in 2014. For example, we are hoping to bring in a table tennis table and to develop an information folder so that guests can locate the best activities, restaurants and local facilities as easily as possible. We are committed to making it an excellent family and couple venue. All the best Roland and Hilary
