The New South Wales region
Oberon is located on the beautiful Central Tablelands in an area rich in diversity. There are fantastic caves to visit, National Parks to explore and beautiful countryside to drive through. Small towns encourage visitors to leave their cars and wander around. Beautiful historic architecture is to be seen everywhere. Visit the large centres of Bathurst and Orange for galleries, gardens and exhibitions while smaller centres each have something special to offer. There is usually a Farmers' Market somewhere nearby where you can purchase home grown and home made goods. We are close to Mayfield Garden and Gairloch Garden. Roads are all good in the region, although some are unsealed.
Meet our friendly farm animals. Children love to pat the donkeys and the horses. Lorrie the sheep is very keen on some feed in a bucket!Close to Avaleigh Elms, visitors can horse ride, fish, walk, fossick, cycle, kayak (own boat required), play golf or tennis. Oberon's heated pool is open in summer. National Parks and State Forests are very close and the wonderful Jenolan Caves are only 45 minutes away. There is usually a farmers' market nearby on the weekend and the Mayfield and Gairloch Gardens are a must see!
If guests would like to bring their own horses, there are lots or riding opportunities nearby, including the neighbouring State Forest where you can often see wombats and beautiful birds.

"Cosy and Comfortable"
Had a lovely weekend staying at Avaleigh Elms. The weather wasn't kind but the combustion fire made the cottage very cosy. Very comfortable and peaceful. A lovely welcome gift of farm fresh eggs … More

"cosy, quiet and comfortable - great for a relaxed family holiday"
Avaleigh Elms was a cute and cosy stay, especially with the farm animals and great hospitality of Jen and Don! The wood fire was a nice little addition along with the family movies provided :) The area provided a quiet and relaxing atmosphere that was wonderful on a family holiday.

"Great Farm, wonderful hosts"
We travelled with 2 young children (6 & 4) and had a great time at Avaliegh Elms. The cottage was neat and tidy, and toasty warm with the fire. Jenn and Don made us feel very welcome on their farm. The animals were a hit with the children, and Jenn made sure we could interact with the animals as much as we wanted to. We did a trip to Jenolan Caves and a short horse ride on a nearby farm, so there was enough to keep the family busy.
