The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
Avignon, with all its history (Pont St Bénézet, Palais des Papes), the Festival de Théâtre in July, and numerous museums
The spectacular Les Alpilles chain of hills is just a 30 minute drive, St Rémy de Provence, Mouriès, Maussane, les Baux de Provence...
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is less than ten minutes away, famous for the Antiques village and Sunday market
La Route des Vins, "the wine road" (Gigondas and "les Dentelles de Montmirail", Séguret,Vacqueyras, Châteauneuf du Pape) is also easily accessible
If its nature you're after, La Camargue National Park is an hour drive from here where you can find beaches and the traditional town of St Maries de la Mer
Oppede-le-Vieux area
Nearby, it’s possible to find cycling tours, hiking trails, tennis courts and fishing. Golf, rock climbing and kayaking can easily be found within a short drive of the village.
Alternatively, take a wander through the charming medieval streets of the old village, culminating in a visit to the spectacular 16th century cathedral. Travelling further afield, its possible to visit Roman ruins at St Remy-de-Provence, wander the pretty streets of Aix-en-Provence or even take a trip to the Med coast!
Many of the surrounding villages hold weekly markets, where it’s possible to view and buy local produce. Many larger towns have become famous for their markets, including Isle sur la Sorgue, (antiques), and Cavaillon, (melons).
You’ll find the nearest larger supermarket at Cavaillon, approximately 13km away
How to get there
By Car - The village of Oppede-le-Vieux is approximately 20 minutes from the town of Cavaillon, just off the A7 autoroute
By Air – Avignon airport is approximately half an hour away from the village, with Marseilles and Nimes being between 60 and 90 minutes away respectively
By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 30 minutes away

The kitchen has just about everything that you are likely to need for a break in Provence, including a cooker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. There is also a separate ‘wash house’ that contains a washing machine and tumble dryer
There are a total of four bedrooms in the property, all located upstairs – two doubles and two twin rooms. There is also a double sofa bed located in an office on a separate mezzanine level
Two bathrooms are located on the same floor as the bedrooms, each one having a bathtub, shower and WC. One of these bedrooms also has an en-suite shower room with WC.
Further details outdoors: The property is set in 3000m2 of partially enclosed terraced gardens. There is also a large covered terrace with BBQ – perfect for enjoying the Provencal summers! Car parking can be found in the village.
The 8m x 5m private pool is available from April until September, and is ideal for a refreshing swim. There’s also an outside shower room and WC, which is perfect for instant refreshment after a hard day lounging in the sun!
Conditions
The owner requests a damage deposit of 1000 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible
