The Costa Verde region

Costa Verde is generally known as the "Birth of Portugal" It's a lovely climate with temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 degrees between April and October. Oporto city is located in the estuary of the Douro river in northern Portugal, is considered the economic and cultural heart of the entire region.
The historic centre of Porto was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.

The North's most important city lent its name to the famous wine and to Portugal.
One must stroll around its typical quarters (especially the area on the waterside the "zona ribeirinha") and its bustling downtown.

Oporto area

Oporto is one of the last undiscovered European metropolises. This is the city that originated and named Port Wine, and gave birth to one of world history's legendary figures, Prince Henry the Navigator.
OPorto is rich with well preserved treasures, including monuments in the Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neo-classical style, such as Cathedral, Port Wine Cellars, Clerigos, Serra do Pilar, Foz and Boavista.

You can also take a trip in a replica of the old Rabelo boats, aboard which you can regularly take a cruise to enjoy, from the River, the historical area of Oporto or even organize a lunch/dinner for a smaller group of people.

Cheap flights available from Ryanair.com from UK to Porto airport.
You can choose between Metro, Táxi or Bus:

- Go from Sá Carneiro to Trindade by Metro, then 200m walk

- There are always local taxis available - fare should be no more than 20 euros.

- Local buses run regularly between the airport and the town.
