The house is on two floors and has 4 beds,2 bathrooms,fully equipped kitchen,paved garden space with fruit trees and seating for 8 with barbecue. The lounge has seating for 8, dining table and a wood burning stove. The property was renovated last year and is Portugese through and through downstairs with a Scandinavian feel upstairs with wooden floors. The wonderful beaches of Leca are 5 minutes walk away - home to surfers,swimmers and those who prefer to laze in the sun!

The Costa Verde region
This whole area has been left alone by developers so there are few high rises and tourist developments - this is the 'real' Portugal!
To the north lies the green region of Minho, perhaps the most verdant and beautiful region of Portugal famous for meat and fish dishes and spectacular coasts. A 1oo km drive will take you to Galicia in Spain where a visit to Vigo and Santiago is a must. From Porto you can go by excursion boat up the Douro River into the heartland of the Port producing region, passing through unspoilt and spectacular country.
Oporto / Leca da Palmeira area
The house is private but close to all amenities of wonderful Leca - beaches, shops, banks, cafes, restaurants, metro to Porto. Only 15 minutes from the airport and with parking 20m away in a square. This is a perfect location for a family holiday providing a safe and quiet environment with lots to do - the infinity pool is close by as are numerous parks and Traquinhas activity centre. The horse riding school is within walking distance; too as is an indoor football hall. Fine dining and cheaper options abound with fresh fish and meat being the order of the day. At night there are an array of bars and cafes as well as the marina and castle of Leca. Check out sites that give a view of life there! The house has a lovely garden with seating and fruit trees, and bushes, secluded but open to the sun during the day. It was renovated completely last year and boasts a wood burning stove in the lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with all white goods including dishwasher and laundry facilities.
Leca is 15 minutes south of the Airport and was a fishing village in days gone by and is now a port with cobbled streets winding their way through the houses most of which date from the 19th Century. It is now home to a great mix of people - young professionals, families and yet there remain some of the older folk who remember the fishing fleets - often you encounter an ageing lady carrying fish on her head just back form the market!
How to get there
Ryanair flies to Porto from Stansted (London), Liverpool,Bristol,Birmingham and Dublin and from Sweden,Belgium,France,Italy and Switzerland from across Europe.
TAP, Iberia and Portugalia also fly there from various airports in the UK.
On arrival at Porto International you will be met and transferred to the house at no extra cost to you. If the party exceeds the maximum capacity of our vehicle (7 passengers) or if you have a large amount of luggage it may be necessary to have a taxi following. Our house is 15 minutes south of the airport and costs €15 one way in a taxi.
Porto International is now a fabulous airport after being totally rebuilt. It's easy to negotiate and the staff there are very helpful and they all speak English. Car rental is simple at the airport although best to be arranged in advance for the best price.
The metro is new in Porto and from nearby Matosinhos the metro can be taken all over the city - it's the best way to get downtown and to the famous old Ribeira District. Buses go from very close by along the sea and river all the way to Ribeira and the famous 5 bridges.
