About the home

Casa Serralves, with its private garden, is the perfect base from where to visit the historical Oporto, like the spectacular Convento de S. Francisco and so many other grand monuments. In a different mood, there are its elegant beaches and really so much to do!

The interior of the property is very elegant with generous proportions, a large and beautiful living room with satellite tv and very comfortable sofas, adjacent to the dining room which has a French door to the garden; a very well equipped kitchen, and two double bedrooms with en suite bathroom, one of them with jacuzzi.

There are 5 spectaculars bridges crossing the Douro river, each one in its own style! Plan a visit the Port wine cellars, check the art exhibitions in Serralves and what better way to end the day but a concert at the modern Casa da Música!

Or go to Vila Nova de Gaia and enjoy a meal by the banks of the river with a spectacular view of Oporto.
If you're the sportive type some minutes by car and there is golf, riding or tennis if you prefer!!!!

The Costa Verde region

The Oporto / Museu de Serralves area

The North's most important city lent its name to the famous wine and to Portugal. One must stroll around its typical quarters (especially the area on the waterside the "zona ribeirinha") and its bustling downtown. To visit: the Stock Exchange Palace, the Roman-Gothic Cathedral, the Church of Cedofeita (Romanesque), the Clérigos Tower (Oporto's ex-libris) and Church; the Church of São Francisco, of Romanesque origin and with its gilded carvings, and the Church of Carmo, with its tiled façades. Museums: Soares dos Reis, Casa de Serralves, Casa Museu de Guerra Junqueiro. One should not miss a visit to the wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia and free tasting of the famous port wine.
