Home description
This apartment is located on the waterside in the UNESCO World Heritage area. Across the Douro River are the famous Port Wine 'Caves'. This is a quiet apartment, very romantic and with great views (waterfront).
Oporto is famous for its Port. Visit one of Oporto's most traditional establishments, for a tour and tasting. Oporto is so picturesque: with the old wine boats plying the river in front of you, and traditional port lodges behind, the medieval old-town clinging to the opposite bank and the skyline punctured by the Cathedral and numerous churches.

The Costa Verde region
The Costa Verde is steeped in history with an abundance of grand churches, castles and manor houses dating back to the 12th century. One of the region’s most important towns is Braga, an ancient Roman city which is now most well known as Portugal's religious capital. The cathedral in Braga is a sight not to be missed and the nearby town of Bom Jesus has a medieval castle with some of Portugal's finest examples of Azulejo tiling.

The UNESCO protected old-town, a veritable tangle of 14th century lanes tumbles to the river and a beautifully restored waterfront. Luis bridge) across the Douro to Gaia (5 minutes walk) and visit the Port Houses os Ferreira, Sandemans and Barros amongst others where you can take a guided trip and sample the delights of Portugals oldest export.
