The Costa Verde region

Porto is the most ancient city of Portugal - Portus Cale which late turned to Portugal
From Porto the first portuguese king; Afonso Henriques, with the help of the crusaders , whent to conquer Lisbon from the maures.
Several vestiges of this period can still be seen today, such as the City's walls (muralha Fernadina), and the urbanic stucture of the old centre.

The Oporto area

Porto gives it's name to the world famous Port-Wine, do not miss the visit of one of the 83 wine cellers.
Porto's old centre is the largest in Europe and an Unesco world monument.
