The interior is truly superb, with a spacious hallway, a relaxing and comfortable living area with a fireplace and French windows looking out on to the garden and a very well equipped kitchen. On the first floor there are five bedrooms, four with en-suite bathrooms.
The swimming pool comes with a w/c and shower area, and the unobtrusive owner, who lives next door, provides pool towels and bicycles (4) on request. Within walking distance you will find the new tramway station, meaning no need for a car and easy and efficient access South to the bustling, historic city of Porto, famous for its character, numerous monuments, sophisticated shopping and of course, for its Port wine lodges. To the North you will discover the beautiful and lively towns of Vila do Conde and Povoa de Varzim with sandy beaches, golf courses and casino for those who like a flutter and only five kilometres away you will find Labruge beach and the little fishing village of Angeiras, with its sandy beach.

The Costa Verde region
The Costa Verde is a region whose name perfectly evokes its beautiful countryside, unspoilt coastlines and lush landscapes of rich green valleys, vineyards and seemingly endless pine forests.
Portugal's "Green Coast" stretches from the border with Spain in the north, down to just south of Porto, the country's second largest city.
On the Costa Verde you will find the place of life is leisurely and steeped in tradition. Smallholders tend their plots in ways unchanged for many generations; fishermen take to the Atlantic in locally-built boats whose design would be recognised by their forefathers.
Costa Verde is blessed with a wealth of monuments to the past, ancient convents, churches, monasteries, and picturesque castles tower above the landscape.
CLIMATE
The Costa Verde benefits from wet, mild winters which have created a wonderfully fertile temperatures reaching 32ºC.
The Oporto / Lavra Matosinhos area
Porto city is situated at the mouth of the Douro river-famed for its three spectacular bridges and the characteristic port boats-rabelos-boats that ply the river with cargoes which will be shipped around the world.The narrow streets along Porto´s riverbanks-packed with cellars where one can enjoy free tasting of port wine and its many museums, art galleries and restaurants, make this city a must.

This is a beautiful, extremely spacious villa with plenty of room for a large group of friends or family. Each bedroom is large and comfortable and almost all have fantastic en suite bathrooms. The garden and pool area is absolutely stunning with an incredible amount of garden space, we couldn't quite believe our eyes when we arrived! The metro station is literally across the road so travel couldn't be easier and the centre of Porto can be reached in 25 minutes or so. We had an amazing stay here and Maria was a very accomodating and helpful host, we would highly recommend Casa do Celeiro to anyone! |
