Home description

Les Clarines is a beautiful, spacious well-equipped, four bedroomed chalet in a fabulous location for holidays at any time of year. It boasts a log burning fire, games room and fantastic views of Mont Blanc. Accommodates ten people comfortably. 35 minutes drive from Geneva.
It is positioned within Les Brasses ski resort and provides easy access to many larger resorts including Portes Du Soleil.
In the spring and summer the region is a paradise for numerous outdoor activities.
The well served village which has a summer heated outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts is only a five minute walk from the Chalet.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Haute-Savoie is a beautiful area of the French Alps, perfect for skiing as well as for summer holidays and numerous outdoor activities.
The region boasts six natural parks and is well positioned for easy access to Lake Geneva with its beaches and picturesque cities including Thonon, Evian and Yvoire. Geneva is only thirty-five minutes drive from the chalet and the cosmopolitan city offers great shopping opportunities. Other wonderful places to visit include Annecy and Lake Annecy which is only a forty-five minute drive and Chamonix and Mont Blanc which is reached within an hour.
The region is famous for its delicious food which can be enjoyed in numerous excellent local restaurants.The people are very approachable and friendly and in both winter and summer seasons there are many festivals and cultural events to enjoy nearby.
In summary this region of outstanding beauty offers something for everybody.


Onnion area

Onnion is a hidden gem. It is a typical french village with a few small shops, restaurants and amenities but also boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool (in season). It is part of the ski resort Les Brasses which has over 50 km of slopes for all levels but is ideal for families and beginners. It is perfectly located for easy access to other more well known ski resorts including Sommand and Praz de Lys, Grand Massif, Portes Du Soleil and Chamonix. Ski hire and lessons are particularly reasonable in the village.
In the summer as well and swimming tennis the area offers hundreds of fabulous walks. Other activities available in the area include fishing, climbing, cycling, paragliding, horse riding, canyoning, canoeing, rafting etc. There are beaches and other water sports eg. sailing and windsurfing on Lake Geneva and Lake Annecy.

Access by Road:
It is 528 miles from Calais.

Access by Air:
You either fly to Geneva, Chambery or Lyon.

The second closest is Chambery. It is 65 miles from the chalet and it should take you no more than 1h15. Two budget airlines fly to Chambery:

* flybe from Birmingham, Exeter, Norwich, Southampton.
* jet2 from Leeds Bradford, Manchester.

The third airport is Lyon. It is 107 miles from the chalet and it should take you no more than 1h45.

* easyjet from London Stansted.
* thomsonfly from Bournemouth, Coventry, Doncaster Sheffield.
* bmibaby from London Heathrow.

Which ever airport you choose we recommend that you hire a car. Having your own transport allows you to explore the area with freedom and in winter to choose the ski stations and conditions that best suit your needs. The Eurostar goes to Paris from where TGV trains travel onto Geneva 7 days a week.
