About the home

Villa Mina is situated a quiet location in the hills above Olu Deniz. It is located between Ovacik and Olu Deniz away from the main tourist area and is just 5 minutes by Dolmus from the beach. It is within easy walking distance of local shops and lively Hisaronu, which with its bars, clubs and shops is popular with younger guests.

Villa Mina is a spacious and comfortably furnished 4 bedroomed villa, with full air conditioning, its own private pool and a beautiful mature garden complete with a variety of fruit trees. Situated at the foot of Badabag mountain, it attracts gentle breezes coming up from the sea throughout the day and night, which are particularly pleasant in the height of the summer.

Comfortably furnished and with authentic Turkish touches, the villa has 2 double bedrooms, 2 large twin bedrooms (both of which have an extra pull-out bed allowing them to sleep 3 people comfortably) and a baby cot is available. The villa has bathrooms on the upper and lower floors (both with shower cubicles & WC, the lower additionally has a bath), and a WC on the main floor.

The upstairs bedrooms have balconies overlooking the pool and with mountain views.

The main floor comprises an open plan living area, with cosy sitting area, traditional open fireplace, satellite TV and DVD player . It is furnished with comfortable sofas, Turkish rugs and cushions, and doors open out onto the terrace and pool area There is a dining area and fully fitted kitchen with oven, microwave and all the necessary utensils. Downstairs there is a washing machine.

Further details outdoors:
Outside there is a 32sq m private pool with shower, sun loungers, mattresses, bean bags and parasols. The garden and pool area are illuminated at night - perfect for evening swims and family barbecues using the traditional brick built Turkish barbecue.

There is a large shady terrace with grape vine, which allows you to take advantage of the cooling breezes coming up from the sea, and is perfect for alfresco dining and watching the paragliders fly over Mount Babadag.

The villa is surrounded by a mature garden with fragrant flowering plants and a variety of fruit trees, including figs, and peaches and even has its own resident tortoise!

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Olu Deniz is a stunning resort on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, famous for its white sandy beach, beautiful tree lined lagoon, mountain views, water sports and paragliding.

The Turquoise Coast (Lycia) is well known for its stunning scenery with clear blue sea, and sandy coves framed by dramatic mountains. The history of Lycia is fascinating, rock tombs are everywhere and there are many sites to visit.

The Lycian Way long distance footpath (rated by the Sunday Times as one of the top 10 walks in the world) starts from near the villa. It follows 500 km of ancient footpaths that linked the villages of the Turquoise Coast and is a real must for anyone who likes walking.

You can do a day walk along part of it from the villa, returning by bus or can do a longer walk, staying overnight in local accommodation along the way. We have done this ourselves and can advise you on where to go.

The Turkish port of Fethiye is a 15 minute dolmus trip from the villa. Fethiye boasts an attractive marina, many authentic Turkish restaurants, shops and an enormous weekly market. No visit to Fethiye is complete without dinner at the open air fish market where you select your fresh fish and take it to any one of a number of restaurants around the square to be cooked as you wish.

The Olu Deniz area

Villa Mina is situated in the hills above Olu Deniz, and is just 5 minutes by Dolmus from the beach. There is a weekly market selling a variety of goods which is ideal for buying clothes and gifts to take home. Start your holiday off with a relaxing turkish bath and massage at Fethye's ancient turkish bath.

Local activities include the following:
~ Paragliding from Mount Badabag (1,900m) acknowledged as one of the best paragliding sites in the world
~ Watersports (scuba diving, sailing, banana boats, canoeing)
~ White water rafting
~ Quad biking, Jeep safari
~ Pony trekking, mountain biking

Excursions can be arranged to a number of places including:

o Dalyan ( riverboat trip along the reed lined Dalyan river, ancient city of Caunus, rock tombs, mud baths, riverside restaurants)
o Saklikent gorge
o Kaya (ghost village in the beautiful Kaya valley and the setting for Louis de Berniere's 'Birds Without Wings')
o Patara ancient site (Santa Claus’ birthplace), and beach (voted “best beach in the world” in Sunday Times)
o Other historical sites such as Xanthos, Letoon & Tlos are nearby
o Further afield (1 to 2 day trip) – Ephesus, Pamukkale and Cappadoccia

Activities and excursions can be arranged locally and are very reasonably priced. A boat trip along the coast is a must (beautiful scenery, fishing, snorkelling with a wonderful lunch included).
A golf course run by the Hilton Hotel Group is due to open in Sarigerme (1 hour drive) in Autumn of 2013.

“Lovely Villa in a fantastic area!” We stayed in this property for 2 weeks during the peak season and it accommodated our every need. The pool is great and the garden is beautiful. The interior is beautifully furnished and the air conditioned rooms make a welcome change to the heat outside. The surrounding area is great. The views of the mountains are spectacular, the beach is perfect and the town is great for going out in the evenings for dinner and a drink. I would definitely recommend the boat trip and the jeep safari (very good value for money). The market in Fetiye is a must if you want to grab yourself a bargain and mix with the locals. All in all one of the best holidays we've been on. Thanks for letting us stay in such a nice villa!

“Lovely property in a great location” A beautiful, new property in a great location near to a lively town and fabulous beaches. Plenty of bedrooms, clean and well-kept. Outdoor seating area is great and the pool is a real asset. Service was excellent with a pool man arriving most days and able to help you with anything you needed to know. Loved the fact there was so much to do in the surrounding area and the beach was so close, although you do need a car to get to some of the places of historical interest. We would definitely go there again as there is still so much to see and there is plenty to interest teenagers as well.
