About the home
Beautiful villa in superb position overlooking Ovacik. Huge lounge with patio doors along complete side. Very light and airy. Mountain views all around. Within easy reach of Turkey's most photographed beach, nearby harbour town of Fethiye and Kaya village with its "ghost-town" ruins. Local shops and restaurants within walking distance, as is the bus route (buses to the beach and to Fethiye run every 10 minutes and you can hail them at any point and be dropped off at any point along the route). You can go paragliding,horse riding,diving or on one of the many reasonably priced boat trips (a superb day out) which include lunch.
Regular ferries to rhodes from fethiye during summer.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Make sure you have a camera,and,if you love the sea,pack a snorkelling outfit! The turquoise coast has stunning scenary being situated in a mountain range. The beaches are very clean (the water really is turqoise!), sites of archaeological interest (lycian rock tombs,ruins etc.). Good walking holidays can be had in November,December and March,April. Summers are hot from june to sept. Warm months are April,May and October. Kaya village should also be visited for a look around the "ghost-town"
Single people and couples should take advantage of the low cost scooter hire to explore the area, though it is possible to find some real beauty spots within a short walking distance. Most popular places of interest are within easy reach and the buses are very frequent and cheap all year round.
The Olu Deniz area
OLU DENIZ, literally translated means "Dead Sea." This is not because it has so many minerals dissolved in it that there is no life,(as in the middle-eastern dead-sea)on the contrary as there are many fish in this area, but because it is so calm. It is one of the safest places to swim and go snorkelling.
BELCEKIZ BEACH. This is the famous beach (which is the most photographed in Turkey and is pictured in just about every piece of travel literature) leading to the "Blue-Lagoon," from here you can book boat trips,go paragliding or find a diving school. There are some good eateries (ideal at sunset) and there are cash-points opposite the bus stop. The beach is VERY clean. The Blue-Lagoon is a conservation area and a small fee is charged to enter.
OVACIK & HISARONU are resorts within the same plateau which reside under the umbrella of the Olu Deniz Municpality.
OVACIK is a small town on a mountain plateau well catered for in the way of local eateries and bars. There are many easy walks to places of beauty and high views from here.
HISARONU caters for night-life and has many bars and discos.
FETHIYE has many good shops and is a real working town which does not close down for winter. It also has a marina with some fine restaurants. The farmers market on tuesdays is a must for local produce and if you are a smoker the locally grown tobacco is ridiculously cheap!! There are also rock-tombs overlooking the town.
If you need a barber, doctor, pharmacy or a dentist ,these are all in easy reach. Gents, spoil yourself and have a shave and a massage!!

Had a brilliant holiday at Rosemarys villa - it had everything we needed and more. The enclosed balcony meant we could relax knowing the children (3 and 1 years) could not get to the pool. We hired a car due to the children and when we went out we were spoilt for choice in resturantss. The Turkish people were so friendly and accomodating and thanks also to Bob and Pauline. it was definatly a 5 out of 5 holiday all round and we hope to go back again next year. |

From the minute we arrived at Dalaman and Fehmi was there waiting for us, until our departure everything was perfect.
