Further details outdoors:
We are very proud of our wonderful gardens and spend a lot of time ensuring that they are an oasis amongst the fields and mountains of this beautiful valley. The villa is very private, with a large, partially covered ground terrace with built in BBQ. Steps lead you up to your private roof-top terrace which offers you outstanding views of our grounds, the deserted village of Kaya Koy and the stunning mountains that surround us.
Our large, peanut shaped pool, with smaller children's pool, provide the perfect central point for your holiday. A large terrace has plenty of room for lounging on the sun loungers and catching up on a good book, a well earned snooze or soaking up the sun! Adjacent to the pool are 3 tumble-down old stone cottages. One has been incorporated into the swimming pool terrace and one of the others has been made into a traditional Ottoman Kosk, or seating platform, covered in cushions, carpets and antique artifacts - this is a lovely shaded place to get away from the hot midday sun or relax in the evening with a bottle of wine and some friends!
For our younger guests we also have a small children's playground area comprising swing, tyre swing, climbing frame and small "Wendy house".

Enquire nowThe Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
This stunning section of the Turkish coastline is not called the Turquoise coast for nothing. The Mediterranean coast here is literally turquoise blue. Calm, tranquil and clear water, perfect for swimming, snorkelling, sailing and generally enjoying.
Majestic mountains plunge into the sea and dozens of islands lay scattered about providing a myriad of bays and coves to explore by boat.
The climate is warm and sunny in Spring and Autumn, with wonderful days and cool nights – perfect for those that like to explore on foot. Temperature are pretty hot in July and August, with almost guaranteed sunshine every day . However, being in the valley which is about 1000ft above sea level we experience cooling breezes which results in temperatures 3 or 4 degrees cooler than the nearby coastal resort of Olu Deniz and the harbour town of Fethiye.
The Kaya Koy valley is an environmentally protected valley of outstanding natural beauty and historical significance. Deserted in the 1920's during the Greek/Turkish population exchange, Kaya Koy is now designated as a "Peace Village" and attracts archaeologists, historians and many young Greek and Turkish people, resulting in continuing improvements in relations between the two countries.
The author of "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" Robert de Bernier, selected Kaya Koy as the basis for his novel called "Bird without Wings". The book conjures up the atmosphere of this stunning location and portrays life as it was before the WW1 split everything apart.
A truly Turkish experience and one not be missed.
The Olu Deniz / Kayakoy area
Centrally located between the resorts of Olu Deniz and Fethiye, Kaya Koy is a perfect place to base your holiday if you prefer peace and tranquillity for most of your holiday, but want to be close to other amenities from time to time. The village itself has a wealth of history, some stunning restaurants and an atmosphere that is unique. Close by is the town of Hisaronu, rather touristy and a bit noisy for our tastes, but with some good restaurants, some great night life, and plenty of good shopping. Olu Deniz, of course, has the famous 3km beach and “Blue Lagoon”, perfect for either adults or families. Also, some excellent places to eat and some good night life.
Fethiye has a big marina, a long seafront promenade, and many wooden “Gulets” lined up offering “12 Island Cruises” at very low prices. Fethiye has many banks, supermarkets, a charming old town with lots more shops and permanent fish, fruit and vegetable markets – not to mention some great restaurants and nightlife.
Our nearest beach is “Gemiler beach” at the end of our valley. A delightful spot with a beachside restaurant overlooking Gemiler island just offshore. Most holidaymakers never discover this beach so it is usually quiet on weekdays, but busy at weekends with all the locals. Within easy reach of your villa you can experience, walking, riding (both camel and horses!), cycling, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, para-gliding, para-sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, boat cruises, fishing, microlite flights, and of course sight-seeing, visiting a dozen places of outstanding natural beauty or of historical interest.
You will not be bored coming to this area!

We had a wonderful stay in Kaya Vadi House. There was everything we needed and more! Having all the towels provided, including beach towels, was wonderful as it left plenty of room in our suitcases! The site was beautifully kept and the site manager couldn't have been more helpful. He organised car hire, taxis, restaurants, boat trips, horse riding and fresh bread every morning. The swimming pool and small play area make it great for the kids. The weather was generally good and there was plenty to do. We are definitely going back! |
