The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Pinewood Place is conveniently located between 2 popular resorts, offering the best of both worlds. If beautiful beaches are what you’re after, look no further. Just a 15-minute walk away is the fabulous resort of Olu Deniz, home of the most photographed beach in Turkey, if not the world. The clear, turquoise waters and white sands of its natural lagoon are simply breath-taking and the warm waters provide swimming for most of the year. For the more adventurous, Olu Deniz is also home to one of the best paragliding spots in the world as well as several other activities including a host of water sports, daily excursions, boat/fishing trips and phenomenal scuba diving. The resort also offers numerous bars and restaurants that cater for every taste.
For those seeking evening entertainment, the lively mountain resort town of Hisaronu is just a five-minute walk away and also offers a wide range of restaurants, bars and night clubs, as well as plenty of family-friendly locales.
Taxis are plentiful or alternatively, you may wish to catch one of the local 'dolmuz' minibuses which pass outside Pinewood’s gated entrance every ten minutes.
Olu Deniz area
FETHIYE The bustling harbour town of Fethiye is just a 20 minute drive away and is a great place to dine, shop or just experience the Turkish way of life. In the old town bazaar, you can find traditional arts and crafts including turkish rugs, leather goods and hand cratfed pottery and glassware. The fresh fish market is out of this world and the weekly market is a worthwhile day trip. Here you’ll find everything from fresh fruit to fabulous furniture.
PATARA An hour’s drive from Pinewood Place is the ancient town of Patara. With its gorgeous landscape and ancient structures, it’s a step back in time. The beach, which has been twice voted as ‘The best beach in the world..’ by the Sunday Times, is an 18km long strip of golden powder-soft sand bordered at each end by mountains and flanked by rolling sand dunes. It is also a national park filled with flora and fauna and home to a wide variety of birdlife, as well as being the breeding ground of the endangered Loggerhead turtle.
GOCEK The pretty town of Gocek is a 45 minute drive away and is famous for its international yachting marina. Here you can laze the day away in one of the many harbour-side cafes, watching the yachts come and go - a great place to people watch!
KALKAN The picturesque fishing town of Kalkan has grown from a small village to a popular resort with a stylish marina, yet still manages to retain its Ottoman-era charm. Characterised by its winding streets, whitewashed houses and charming azure cove, shielded by mountains which fall right into the sea, Kalkan is definitely a place to see and be seen. Dining at one of the harbour restaurants is recommended, or why not enjoy lunch from a clifftop and take in the spectacular view of the bay?
KAS As you head towards the coastal resort of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast, you’ll reach the small fishing port of Kas. Less developed than Kalkan and every bit as charming, it also has well-preserved rock tombs and an ampitheatre.
EXCURSIONS You’ll find a vast array of tours and excursions available from local tour operators in both Oludeniz and Hisaronu. These include boat trips to the nearby beauty spots of Butterfly Valley, Faralya and 12 Islands, as well as the ancient historical sites of Ephesus and the Lycian Tombs, and the natural wonders of the Pamukkale pools and Sakklikent Gorge.

How to get there
Nearest airport is Dalaman, which has a brand new international terminal. A number of charter airlines fly direct to Dalaman. From the UK try flythomascook.com or thomsonfly.com. First Choice and Excel (xl.com) are other options.
The journey from the airport now takes approx 35 minutes by car. You can hire a car for a reasonable price from the airport, although you will almost certainly find great deals locally in Olu Deniz or Hisaronu.
