"Beautiful holiday in Olonzac January 2014"
Amy & Alf are very friendly helpful hosts, they are always happy to advise on places to visit, where to eat, things to do etc,
The gite is clean, tidy and spacious with a lovely view of the valley and river from the patio, comfortably sleeps six and an open plan kitchen/living room perfect for having those Mediterranean family meals together. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and high quality, overall a perfect combination of 21st century comfort and a quaint old French cottage.
The village of Olonzac and surrounding area has some of the most breathtaking views to to take in on a drive round the mountain roads or on a walk along the river. Perfect for artists or photographers. And ideal for mountain bikers and walkers.
Nearby is Minerve which has some good little restaurants and again amazing views and walks, also here are some caves to explore which definately should not be missed.
It is quite rural so I would suggest a car or mountain bikes to get around.
Carcassone is a medieval town a short drive away which also should not be missed with beautiful architecture in the restored old town, there's plenty of good restaurants and bars. Lots of shops to look around, perfect for a family day out.
We shall definately be visiting again soon.

"a tranquil, relaxing break in a beautiful and exciting enviroment"
a great place to get away from the rigours of everyday life, but within a short distance of many lovely and interesting places to visit, local markets and cafes are a must to see how different French country life is,also to soak up the marvelous atmosphere.the town of Minerve is a must, great history, scenery, buildings and superb reasonably priced restaraunts. the gite is set in a valley with amazing views all around, plenty of parking space,a river running through the grounds and lots of outside space to eat, drink and play.the open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room is very spacious,as are the bedrooms, and bathroom.the whole gite was was bright, clean and comfortable.
So glad you had a nice time! Hope to see you again soon.

"A beautiful retreat nestled in Stunning French countryside, a fantastic relaxing get away."
If you like walking take you'r hiking boots there is lots to see.
Hiring a car is recommended because of it's remote setting.
It would be a shame to miss a visit to Mi nerve, the town built on top of a rock pillar almost. A Natural occurrence of two rivers meeting caused an amazing canyon to form all the way around, steeped in history, it was probably the high lite of my trip.
