Set in the foothills above the orange groves of Oliva, on the Mediterranean coast with its' miles of safe sandy beaches surrounded by the picturesque mountain ranges, this spacious detached villa offers very comfortable accommodation in a prestigious and tranquil location. Set on two levels, the accommodation is tastefully furnished and offers a large open plan kitchen and dining area, large lounge area downstairs, two double and two twin bedded bedrooms plus a single bedroom with a total of four bathrooms. The large 10m X 5m pool is surrounded by spacious terracing, palm trees and a barbecue/summer house - a lovely sun spot for these warm Mediterranean evenings and sweltering summer days. You can swim in the nearby Font Salada all year a guaranteed 80 degrees F all year and which is excellent for skin conditions.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Valencia Province region

The villa is set on a hillside overlooking the bustling town of Oliva and the Oliva Nova golf and beach resort. Oliva beach has great restaurants and both beach bars and discos for those looking for night-life. We are 45 mins drive from Valencia airport and 1h 10 mins from Alicante airport. The journey from either airport couldn't be easier being motorway all the way to the bottom of the hill. Casa May is ideally situated for either those who want to explore the beautiful Valencian region or for those who simply want to relax and recharge theirbatteries.

Oliva area

Oliva and its surroundings offer a huge variety of things to do and places to visit. The main magnets for foreign visitors are sun and golf but there's much more to this area which is rich in history and culture and on the doorstep of some of Spain's biggest tourist attractions.

Explore the town's back streets and learn about its rich Roman and Moorish past through the museums, churches and monuments which proliferate in the old Christian and Arab quarters. In Calle Santisimo in the town centre you can see the remains of a Roman kiln from the first century AD. It was once part of a pottery which produced ceramics and building material.

The archaeological museum, a 16th century former manorial home of historic and architectural interest in itself, houses exhibits from prehistory to the 16th century charting the region's domination by the Iberians, Romans and Moors.

At the junction of Calle La Abadia and Calle Las Torres you'll find the 16th century tower which formed part of the old defence wall which once surrounded the town. And dominating the town from the summit of the Santa Ana mountain is the old castle (an impressive sight when lit up at night).

Within easy reach of Oliva there are some wonderful day trips and excursions to enjoy. Valencia is only an hour's drive north with its excellent shops, restaurants, beautiful palm-fringed squares and stylish architecture. The Principe Felipe Arts and Science Centre has become one of Spain's most visited attractions since it opened in December 2001 - with its emphasis on inter-active exhibits, this makes a great day out for children and adults alike.

For golfing enthusiasts there is the prestigious Oliva Nova Golf Course within a 5 minute drive from the villa. This course was designed by Seve Ballesteros, is reasonably priced and boasts an excellent clubhouse with restaurant. Nearby La Sella (Denia) & Javea golf courses offer excellent driving ranges and facilities. South of Valencia (45 minute drive) is the El Sela course which hosted the Spanish Open in April 2003. For family fun the Vergel Safari Park is at the bottom of the mountain and the Terra Mitica and Aqualandia theme parks 45 mins drive to Benidorm. For those who don’t want to stray too far there are books, games, cds, dvds at the villa for you to enjoy. there are two restaurants and bars within walking distance of the villa.

How to get there

Fly to Valencia or Alicante airports then take the E15/A7 motorway to junction 61 or 62 then the N332 to opposite the Oliva Nova Golf complex
