Village Marina is situated on the western side of Olhão and is only a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal which takes you to the beaches on the Ihla do Culatra and Farol which has the lighthouse and Armona the closest Island. This walk takes you along the water front past the marina and the fresh fruit and fish markets and past the majority of water front restaurants. The apartment is fitted out to a high standard including a kitchen fitted out with all necessary integrated appliances. The lounge has a TV and DVD player.
All local restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and amenities are within easy walking distance.

The pool is on the roof and shared with 9 other apartments. There is also a toilet and shower located on the roof top.
Towels and linen are included. Beach towels are also provided. Property is cleaned between guests. Additional cleaning service/change of towels can be arranged at an additional charge.

Please note this is a non smoking apartment and pets are not allowed. The roof is accessed via the stairs or a lift and there is a small flight of stairs inside the apartment.
The Algarve / East Algarve region
Olhão is a major port and actually the largest fishing port in the Algarve. It is full of character with Moorish-style houses.
Olhão itself doesn't have a beach as it is on the Ria Formosa lagoon system but the ferries for the islands run from the quayside near the gardens at the eastern end of the market halls. There are regular services throughout the year, although fewer in number during the winter.
Ilha da Culatra is surrounded by beautifully clear water, with many species of fish, so it is perfect for diving and snorkelling. Ilha do Farol is not a separate island, but the area at the western end of Culatra where the lighthouse is ('Farol' meaning 'lighthouse' in Portuguese) and again offers visitors a large expanse of sand and warm water. Ilha da Armona, the closest ilha to Olhão, has a few restaurants and holiday chalets and large expanses of golden sand for a very relaxing day at the beach!
Faro airport is approximately 20 minutes drive. Car hire is not necessary. Olhao is on the coastal road EN125 and has good access to the motorway. 10/15 minutes walk to Olhão train station. Regular trains and buses for the rest of the Algarve coast and Lisbon (via Faro). Daily bus service to Seville in Spain.
The Olhao area
Olhão has a superb local character with a strong Moorish influence, as yet untouched by tourism. A must see is the local market just a short walk from the apartment on the water front where you can pick up freshly caught fish everyday (except Sunday). Next to the fish market is the indoor produce, meat and cheese market. British and foreign newspapers are available in news stands. It is a large town with plenty of restaurants, particularly specializing in seafood. The new shopping complex (Ria Shopping) has 80 small shops, a large supermarket, restaurants/bars and a cinema. There are several supermarkets within walking distance of the apartment.

Just back from our second holiday to Olhao. What a wonderful place. Stayed at the Village Marina Complex, a ground floor apartment. The roomy apartment was adequate to all our needs. Space/ modern facilities, everything one need including the much needed hairdryer. The caretakers Mike and Mary collected and returned us to the airport, with a little tour of the town thrown in. They couldn't have been more helpful in every way. The location of the complex, while beside the modern Village Marina Hotel is just down from the local market, shops and restaurents. No car is required. We took daily boat trips between the beautiful islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol.Its a little bit like going back in time to peace, tranquility and absolute relaxation. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to anyone and I will definitely make a return journey to this complex. Out of 10/10

The apartment is situated in a convenient position for town, the supermarkets and for daily excursions which take place in Olhao, and the cleanliness of the apartment was second to none - it is obviously well cared for. It is also well equipped with everything you need for your stay, we ate in most nights and were able to cook comfortably in the well-appointed kitchen. The apartment was also much larger than we had expected so offers more than comfortable accommodation for families.
The roof top pool is a big hit with kids and adults alike, offering several sun loungers as well as an ideal family-sized pool.
If you are going to eat out, we would strongly recommend visiting the neighbouring Real Marina Hotel & Spa. We went for breakfast two mornings of our stay and had a really fantastic classy all-you-can-eat style breakfast with champagne(!) all for £12.50 per person, with my three-year-old sister eating for free. Dinner offered exceptional food and service at a more than reasonable price.
We wouldn't hesitate to go back to this apartment as we were really very impressed with all it had to offer. We look forward to being able to return.

Nice apartment with all the thing you'll need to a perfect and peaceful vacations. The rooftop pool is a wonderful diversion for adults and children. Very good location. You can fish on the pear, or go by boat to beautiful sunny beaches, or go to the best fish market on Algarve, on a 5 minute walk. Lots of fish restaurants and modern commercial malls. Many options on the city that keeps alive the Algarve true spirit. We love it very much.

25% deposit payable on booking, balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival, special arrangements for late bookings and now offering you the option to pay the balance on arrival in euros. If booked less than 8 weeks before arrival the full amount is required immediately. Payment can be accepted in British Pounds or Euros (into Portuguese Bank Account). A breakages/damages/loss of keys deposit of £120 is required with the final payment and this will be refunded in full provided there are no key replacement/damage costs.
Please enquire for changeover day, we are flexible. Arrival time will be after lunch and departure from the apartment will be 10 a.m (we try to arrange for luggage to be left in the apartment if departure flight is later in the day).
