A beautiful sea-view villa set on a secluded wooded hillside overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the best beach on Montserrat, the Belham River Valley, Garibaldi Hill and all 3,500 feet of Mount Soufriere itself. It was built in the late nineties in traditional colonial style and has a huge (800 square feet) swimming pool with infinity feature and diving board, a substantial terracotta tiled terrace, verandahs around three sides of the house, and tropical gardens right around the house which are full of hibiscus, oleander, bouganville, bananas, coconut palms, flamboyant trees, oranges and limes.

With high ceilings, double doors from all rooms onto the verandahs, comfortable furnishings and all modcons, and with absolute privacy, this is one of only seven villas built on 30 acres of wooded hillside, arguably the best setting and best development on this beautiful island.

Facing southwest, offering spectacular sunsets over the sea, and yet within walking distance of three of the best restaurants on Montserrat. The famous but elusive 'green flash' can often be seen from the terrace at sunset.

Maid and gardener are included, as are the services of a property manager, plus transport to and from the airport or ferry terminal.

Inexpensive car hire can be arranged with the vehicle ready at the villa when you arrive.

Montserrat is a most delightful, unspoilt, mountainous and truly beautiful island. Very much the Caribbean as it used to be. Virtually crime-free, the friendliest people on the planet, no resort hotels. cruise ships, traffic lights or high-rises. The population is only 5000. During the winter season particularly there are a good number of villa residents from the UK, Canada and the USA, so a very active social life.

The island is a British Overseas Territory with a resident British Governor. Famous for the Air Studios, now sadly defunct, where Sir George Martin hosted and recorded a huge number of the very top names in music during the nineteen eighties.

This is a place for those who enjoy nature, peace and solitude, and the best of Caribbean quirkiness and hospitality.

The St Peter's Parish region

Montserrat is a very beautiful and unspoilt island of just 5,000 people. English is the language, the island is virtually crime free and mostly unspoilt by tourism. The people are incredibly friendly. No resort hotels, no cruise ships, no traffic lights or high rise buildings - just wonderful scenery, mountains, jungle. wildlife and nature.

Access is normally via Antigua, just 20 miles away. There are very regular air-links, 15 minutes by light plane, and an increasingly regular ferry service from both Antigua and St Kitts.

The wonderful Montserratian residents are supplemented by a mixture of British, Canadian and American expats. There are a number of good restaurants and beach bars and a great social life, but never intrusive. The villa and the island are wonderful for a total chill-out. Peace and tranquillity, a gentle pace of life.

This really is the Caribbean as it used to be, full of quirkiness, friendliness and goodwill.

The climate is delightful all year round. Lots of sunshine, fairly regular rainfall to keep it green but not for long and always warm, and the trade-winds to keep it comfortable.

And the night skies have to be seen to be believed. With such totally clear air and almost zero light pollution the stars are magnificent. There is a substantial reflector telescope in the villa and available for the use of guests, with care of course.

The villa is in a superb location overlooking the sea and the valley below. to the south and west, and the mountains to the east.

Old Towne

Isles Bay Plantation is a very upmarket development of just 7 very private, colonial style villas spread over thirty plus acres of wooded hillside all with superb sea and mountain views.

Lime Tree House has one of the best and most panoramic views of all. It includes the Caribbean Sea, the best beaches on Montserrat, The Belham River valley, Garibaldi Hill, and all 3,000 plus feet of Mount Soufriere.

It is within walking distance of three of the best restaurants on the island, and two of the best beaches.
