The Edinburgh region
Edinburgh is a multi-award-winning, world-class tourist destination. A must-see cultural capital. From stunning skylines to sandy beaches, festivals to fireworks – the city has something for everyone, day and night.
A modern day Jekyll and Hyde, the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, split between the medieval Old Town and the Georgian splendor of the New Town.
But Edinburgh isn't living in the past - it's a vibrant, cosmopolitan city, boasting an exceptional blend of contemporary pubs and bars, restaurants, specialist retailers and leading tourist attractions.
Days can be spent exploring the city's medieval alleyways and glorious architecture – not least the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, dramatically perched on an extinct volcano, high above the city centre.
Old Town, Edinburgh
Discover Edinburgh's amazingly preserved medieval Old Town as you wander its labyrinthine network of narrow alleyways and cobbled streets. Admire its Reformation-era tenement buildings as you walk down the Royal Mile from the top of Castle Rock where Edinburgh Castle sits, to the grand Palace of Holyroodhouse.
See the magnificent vaulted ceiling and ornate tombs of St Giles' Cathedral and view priceless artefacts in the recently refurbished National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street.
You can even delve beneath the town's surface on an Edinburgh Vaults Tours and discover a secret subterranean world of forgotten chambers that once housed the city's poor.
While the Old Town is a fascinating destination at any time of year, it is particularly captivating in August when its austere streets come alive with the sights and sounds of the Edinburgh Fringe and Festival.

"Marvellous location for a short stay in Edinburgh"
We had a great time in Edinburgh, and this flat was a great base. We found it quiet at night yet near to the bustle of the old town. It is very close to the station and good restaurants. The kitchen is small - I wouldn't want to prepare a three course meal, but it is fine for breakfasts and lunches.

"Lovely Flat In A Lovely Location"
Arrangements over the internet for getting the keys went well. The owner provided some useful tips about where to park the car. Everything in flat worked/in good condition and it was all very comfortable. Excellent location for the centre of Edinburgh.

"Fantastic location, great comfort!"
We had a little trouble when we first arrived, since the keys from the key box belonged to another apartment in the building. Where someone else was living. (We shared a couple of beers and made a new… More

"TOO MANY PROBLEMS"
We stayed at this Cockburn Street flat for four night because of its convenient location and great prior sole review. Unfortunately, we cannot echo the accolades of the previous guest who stayed here… More
Whilst we take great care to ensure our guests have a great stay at Cockburn Street, it would seem that even our best efforts some time don't meet the mark.
For clarification on some of the points raised, the mattresses are memory foam for improved posture and don't have springs.
The maintenance person had to order a replacement part. We cannot anticipate what may be broken or damaged with outgoing tenants. We do however address these matters with great urgency.
Communication prior to the visit predominated around an insistence on early access to the property. In order to satisfy this we would have had to upset the outgoing holiday makers which was in our view unreasonable. We did however manage to arrange early access by some three and a half hours to help accommodate this issue.
By good fortune the bedrooms are to the rear of the property enjoying the quietest part of the building. Whilst a City Centre property may have some noise, this is the first and only time we have comments regarding this matter. We will address any issues which may further reduce noise going forward.
We pride ourselves in all the positive feedback and delighted guest we have had over the last 2 years. We will use the comments constructively to ensure our future gusts have a fantastic holiday.

"Comfy flat with a great central location"
For my first visit of Edinburgh this flat was very convenient as it is so close to the Waverley Bridge (the last stop for the 100 bus from the airport). It meant getting around the city was easy and t… More
